I love how the narrative changes on this website over the years.

That was his first year, everyone was probably a little more defensive.

That said, there are some truths on both sides. We were thin, there is no debating that. However, there was talent left by Meyer, especially on the defensive side of the ball. In hindsight, we've also seen we had more talent on offense than realized as underutilized guys under Muschamp have gone into the NFL. We actually have more active WR's on NFL rosters than any other school.

According to ESPN...

These are your NFL WRs under Muschamp.

Frankie Hammond (two years under WM) - 4 career receptions
Solomon Patton (three years under WM) - no career receptions or targets; strictly special teams player
Deonte Thompson (one year under WM) - 15 career receptions for 147 yards; likely to make 53 man roster in Buffalo this year?
Andre Debose (three years under WM) - special teams player waived by Raiders due to another injury
Quinton Dunbar - playing corner in training camp

As an T&M Fan, I would be more concerned that Sumlin fails this year and gets fired. It would take A&M 5+ years to catch up to TCU, Baylor and TX. This is a very critical year in the state of Texas.

um... we got Chad Morris on retainer, baw. Thought you knew?

I'm not arguing that any of those guys are fantastic NFL players. I was simply saying that the talent on offense was better than suggested. I don't know how much Gator football you watched the last 4 years, but I doubt you would think we had too many NFL players on the team watching the trainwreck of an offense.

I warned Florida fans

You shouldve warned Muschamp that the program he was inheriting from the great Urban Meyer was being ran by the players. The inmates had taken over the asylum.
Some say this was the real disease that Meyer had contracted that forced the retirement. Must be nice to lie and quit and still end up at Ohio State. It is quite surprising that the exact day that Ohio State offered, Urban's disease went away and he could coach again.

But Im sure your coach that inherited a stacked locker room and enjoys dancing and jumping with his players wouldve done much better at Flo- Rida.

You would be much better off with Rhett Lashlee.

A decent number of Florida fans thought it was a horrendously stupid hire from the beginning and never bought into the moron's regime - - hell the Internet's most well known Florida fan hated the guy the whole time so don't slander all of us by saying we liked that douche.

Will Muschamp was and is considered the best DC in College Football. The problem he had with his career is that he was hired as a HC, when the trend was toward Offensive Minded Coaches. If Mack Brown would have retired as expected, TX would be dominating the state and Will would be considered a top 10 HC.

Right... It's trends and not the fact that he was the worst coach in Florida history that got his arse fired.

You must have been born in the eighties. Prior to that UF was a homecoming selection.

Was Muschamp unemployed in 2010? Because I seem to remember some angry moron on the sidelines as Texas was getting blown out and suffering it's worse season in decades.

Muschamp is certainly up there as the worst HC in UF history, given the status of the program and his terrible record. We may not have been a championship winning program, but there is some decent history pre-Spurrier.

Muschamp will do such a bang up job at Auburn, that he'll be the next Georgia head coach.

It's worse to destroy a top 5 program than it is to fail to build a program up.

It's hard to think of a football hire that would make me happier than UGA hiring Will Muschamp as their head coach.
