. Bama didn't want to be there - period. It happens in Bowl games - trust me.

5 straight #1 recruiting classes leading up to this season plus one of the best coaches to ever step on a football field. They lost talent after their 2008 season. And 2010 and '11.

In 2010 they had 3 losses but won the next 2 National Championships.

And besides, what 4 teams would you say should be in the playoff talk over Bama? FSU? Sure. Auburn? I guess. Ohio State? Oregon? Stanford? LSU? Michigan State? Every single one of those teams lost talent to graduation/the NFL but none reload like Bama does.

I think most Bama fans forgot about the Utah fiasco by the end of the 2009 season, don't you?

All kidding aside, if LSU would've lost to Auburn in the fashion Bama did the SEC rant would still be trashing LES non-stop. The loss to Choklahoma was also a total embarrassment to the SEC. It would be nice if you would just apologize to the rest of the SEC and move on.

And congrats on your team's victory in the Outback Bowl with the second coming of Jordan Jefferson.

The QB who led us to the 9-6 victory that left grown men crying in the stands. I remember him.

Coming off of a two bowl game losing streak, I am sure it was a relief to see tDecline halted.

It was so much better than losing to Choklahoma in the Sugar Bowl. The decline in Baton Rouge was halted as one has begun in Tuscaloosa. I'm thrilled.

Maybe because they just lost 7 games in the last 5 years and won three BCS national championship games.

It's hard to be mad after so much success.

Their fans just want us to be miserable like they are.

as a note I have LSU vs UGA/UF winner for the SECCG

This thread is about that Bama shouldn't be getting so much love after last year and who they have to replace and you think these 3 are the most likely to win it?

LSU's is replacing their entire Offense (minus OL) and still lost 3 game with them.

UGA went 8-5 and lost the player that made the most plays for them.

UF hasn't proven they can do anything under WM and lost some key players on Defense.

i don't know.

but its not worth listening to any sports talk radio anymore around here.

Q: How do you see the SEC West shaking out this year?

A: Well, you've got to go with either Alabama or Auburn for sure.

*changes channel*

I mean whatever happened to having an opinion that went against the grain? Or having the balls to pick a true surprise team?

who gives a shite if you are wrong? Its not like people are hanging on every last word you say.

McCarron was overrated, and they did not have the best WRs in the conference.

I do think McCarron got better each year but his game won't translate to the pros in my opinion.

Alabama does have supreme talent at the skill positions though. Face it, they are stacked for the most part.

and this is coming from a guy who just doesn't like them.

The only teams in the SEC that were ahead of us in total defense in the SEC were Alabama and Florida. I think that's elite. Agree to disagree?
I will disagree. According to your link, Tulane had a better defense than LSU. That fact right there makes it less than elite.

AUBURN NO.

Cant get lucky every year, Auburn has had back to back 10 win seasons one time in their entire history, ( 88-89 ).

see 2011.

Yeah because what happened in the past guarantees what will happen next year. I love Bama logic.

Because Alabama has finished with double digit wins and in the top 10 for 6 straight seasons?

Because Alabama has had #1 recruiting classes for as long as anyone can remember?

Because Alabama has more future NFL draftees on their roster currently than any other team in the SEC?

Because Alabama's head coach has won 4 national championships in the last decade?

Silly reasons like that.

Just because of their reputation of past 5 years. Reputation follows you around for a while. Honda and Toyota reliability of 80's and 90's are still in people's minds.

They're in for a rude awakening. Bama goes 8-4, feel free to bump this post later.

Bama is a 1 loss team IMO. They may play above their heads and go undefated. JMO.

2 losses again. No more. But, Alabama's invincibility is gone.

Since when was Alabama or any other program ever invincible? Alabama only had 1 undefeated season in it's championship runs and there was a couple of close games that year.

People around the SEC are desperately trying to convince themselves that something has "changed" when in reality nothing has.

Alabama under Nick Saban is going to be a talent rich program that plays with great discipline and consistency and it will take an excellent team playing their best to have a shot at beating them.

That's all that's been happening the last few years and all that's going to continue to happen.

If you field a mediocre team or a team that doesn't play it's A game, Alabama is going to beat you. Bring a talented team that plays great, and you'll have your shot.

downvote because you celebrated proving someone on the rant wrong which is not big feat. Plus it sets a bad example for the A&M fans who already do this to much.

however on you analysis pretty close to what I was thinking. To your points.

I think Coker will be servicable, we will be in some trouble if not, but I have to think he will be better than McElroy and JPW early in the career.

Don't really have a major concern about kiffin, at worst he would probably be pretty similar to what we have had in the past.

OL was not good last year, need people to step up.

Hopefully Yeldon will figure the fumble thing out, Lacy had the problem early and I am sure the staff will be on them through the fall about it. Like you said, no problem there.

WR not really worried about it, with OJ Howard thrown in as well I think we have a real solid group. But in the end this is the last part of our game to be put in place as if we are to be successful this year it will need to be running the ball and d, especially early on.

I think they were below average last year for us, and definitely have a need for young people to step up at CB.

I wouldn't put it past us to get out of the season with 1 loss. The season is really dependent on having people step up on oline and defensive back. The QB is secondary for this year, he should be able to handle the level of play of gmac in his first year. In the end I think that if we get quality play at oline and dback (I am less concerned about db) we will likely have a good shot at the west towards the end of the year even if we already have 1 loss. And this year with the playoff and all, anybody with 1 loss and going into november has a chance to win it all.
