I would have preferred anyone to Mizzou. They literally bring nothing to the table.

Well since there isnt a SEC network yet, and we have the same TV deal we did before they joined they dont. They just take another slice out of the revenue pie.

I didn't say it made sense on any level other than economics.
Those KU and KSU fans are going to get the SEC Network whether they watch it or not strictly because Mizzou is in the SEC.
As long as the cable companies are paying those subscriber fees, we make bank.
Otherwise, there's really very little reason to have Missouri in the SEC.
These conference specific cable networks and the payday they bring have changed the paradigm and not for the better IMHO but it is what it is.

when will you ppl start realizing this expansion had nothing to do with the athletic success (or lack of) of mizzou, but everything to do with the market they bring us, and no it doesn't matter if you couldn't find a mizzou fan in the state of missouri, they'll still pay the Sec just like the state of texas will.

I wouldn't mind VTech and UNC. I don't want UNC and Duke. We would have added a legitimate contender to the West and 2 cupcakes to the East. VTech isn't a superstar team but they aren't Duke.

Mizzou is not great... yeah we get it.
But not that many programs are a top 30 in both major sports, have a solid AD top to bottom and in a state with two major league cities. but yeah, keep tellin yourself Mizzou has nothing.

Pretty much this.
So long as all the cable companies in Missouri (plus portions of KC markets and STL markets that extend into Kansas and Illinois) carry the SEC Network, that's all that matters from a dollars and cents perspective.
We just need Mizzou to be minimally attractive enough to keep those cable companies on the hook in their home market.
It's basically mafia style expansion at this point. Mizzou is just a territory to Slive.
