I think that's an old Big 8 thing:

We have a 55,000 seat stadium that feels up every weekend.

Does this stadium also have luxury sweets?

Considering Missouri seems to be a bad fit I can't see Kansas.
We don't need any more cold weather baseball schools.
If I'm the SEC I would go after another Texas team or I could see Oklahoma screwing both Texas and Okie State and joining

FFS this conference needs more BASKETBALL schools. Do you really want to add another football school like OU just so you all can beat up on each other than watch an inferior Big 10 school win the Championship?

Hmmmm... pass. No one cares about basketball. We don't need anymore punching bags. Kansas brings nothing to the table. Please take Mizzu back to the Big 12 while we are having this discussion.

I don't think KU would be the worst fit. A legitimate basketball power besides Kentucky would probably be good at the conference. It's a joke to suggest they could add anything else, though. Obviously, a semi-capable football program (e.g., Oklahoma, Florida State) would do more for the conference. The best move, albeit impossible, would be to throw Missouri back to the Big 12; they offer the conference NOTHING. I would trade KU for Missouri any day.

Adding the Aggies didn't stop Bama from demolishing Notre Dame.

We already have the Kansas City media market. Slive only cares about adding cable TV subscribers and the state of Kansas offers squat outside of the KC metro.

Lol ever been to KC? Those people are KU and KSU fans almost exclusively. Missouri fans make up less than 10% I bet

Kansas brings little to the table other than hoops. You provide less population than Mississippi without the fertile recruiting grounds and football fan support the State of MS provides. Your school (despite the AAU tag) is no better than middle of the pack academically in the SEC. If we wanted a marginal TV footprint boost with great basketball we would have already invited Louisville which we've never really wanted either. Louisville, unlike Kansas, actually does pretty well in football on a consistent basis and actually cares about football to a decent degree.

Bottom line is that Kansas fans were right there with UT fans arrogantly slamming A&M and Missouri for 'selling their academic souls' to the SEC. Don't come begging us for an invite now that you see how smart they were for bailing on the Big XII.

It is going to end up being VTech and team yet to be known. Possibly NC State.

Both of those schools would be fine, but UNC is the top prize. I think they are headed to the B1G.

it doesn't matter, with the Sec having a team in missouri the Sec can put their network on basic cable in the region and whether missouri ppl ever watch the channel or not they'll still be putting money in the Sec's pockets............basically think espn, espn makes their money off subscibers.....not number of viewers who watch their channel.

Still think it was stupid to take Mizzu instead of West Virginia.
