Hell, Jeff Rutledge lasted 14 years in the NFL. Outside of YA Tittle, has LSU had anyone last that long?

Was that 20 years ago? or 30? You think offenses have changed since then?

not true. Brodie was going to FSU until the last minute.

I knew someone would say that. He was headed to Alabama as long as the hire in December 2000 convinced him enough.

Croyle had to be convinced Franchione was a good hire after Dubose was fired.

Quality people they are too. FSU's entire history has been dependent on the state of Alabama.

Matt Flynn and Jamarcus Russell: not doing a helluva lot in the NFL except raping their employers on payday.

Why did this thread become and LSU/Bama argument of history.

I assumed the OP was talking about a highly rated spread type qb and if he would go elsewhere if a college as strong as Bama ran a more conservative offense.

The answer is yes it would change their view. How many 5star spread offense guys have signed and played at Bama? Hell, Russel Sehp was the #1 guy and chose LSU and never saw a snap! It was a mistake for him to go to LSU IF he expected to get to the NFL as a qb.

How in the frick did Treadwell get brought into a discussion of offenses in 2014? My God you guys are pathetic. Was Saban coaching when he played?

Where are Bowden and Andrews from? Where did they attend college? Where did Fischer attend college? His family is from...? Who did he learn his coaching philosophy from? I can go on. But continue with your ignorance and troll attempts.

He was recruited as a TE by Mike Dubose. Most SEC schools did. He was a miss by several major programs. He went to NC State.

Flynn is on one-year deal making less than a million, JaMarcus has been off the books

He made over 13 last year....I "think" one of those past teams may still be on the books for money owed to him.....maybe Oakland?, Seattle? I forget all the stops he's had.

Don't worry about MAtt, he's got many many millions sitting in the bank, well over 10...clear...fact

The gist of the OP is that Bama QBs don't succeed in the NFL.

But you knew that, right?

Because Jimbo told his parents that while he may not keep him out of trouble, at least he wouldn't be prosecuted for it?

I think Oakland was on the hook for his deal last year. They re-worked it after Seattle traded him. He made $14 million off that Seattle deal, not bad since he never started a game for them

I wasn't knocking him, respect the hell outta him for the job he did at LSU. I wish that I could make that kind of money carrying a clipboard. He hit the jackpot with Oakland based on his performance during a partial season of starting in GB.

Now Jamarcus...totally different feeling for that guy.
