Another good question is why do Gumps feel the need to embellish the # of NC's they have?

To remind you what your program will never accomplish.

Seriously this is the thought you had in the middle of this thread. Ok Bama has 10 to LSU's 3. You feel better now?

Joe Namath ring a bell?

Nothing against Bama....but Namath was overrated because of his prediction. He had Comp. % BELOW 50% 7 times and Comp. % above 50% 6 times. he hrew for 20 or more TD passes twice.

Just my opinion. He was great at the intangibles, though and could jack his team up.

Well, we have a few

But we don't feel the need to claim more than we actually deserve.

How many QBs from LSU, UF, OSU, OU, or Tex have made a huge impact in the NFL? Like I said in my earlier post, it takes a special QB to make a big impact in the NFL. That's just the nature of the position.

It's amazing how well these QB's who aren't talented enough to make it in the NFL have done while at Bama. I guess they just want to go to a school that gets the most out of them and gets them to the NFL with or without talent.

If not Namath, then I'll go with Stabler and Starr.

Like I said....he could jack his team up (Which is important) His intangibles were there, but statistically he was, at best...average.

Now THOSE were two excellent QBs!

But even Starr never threw for 20 TD. Maybe more of a product of run oriented offenses back then.

Everyone forgets about Richard Todd who had a pretty good career in the league.

I'm not talking about star players , I'm talking about guys who have stable careers as a starter or even a back up like Flynn and mallet and mettenberger

Since you're lowering the bar in this troll attempt. John Parker Wilson was a backup for four seasons. Greg McElroy for three, actually starting a game. Brodie Croyle was a part time starter for several seasons.
