have you not noticed that you haven't even been close to winning a championship? seriously.....you talk like you are some elite school...you are not. Currently you have a good qb, and had a good OC....that got you by some teams that were down, mainly auburn. you squeaked out a win over ole miss last year for crying out loud. ANY TIME you played a big boy, you got absolutely obliterated. Even with that QB (who will be gone this year and that is all you have/had) you still aren't even close to winning a conference title. You are a better team offensively than you were last time you made a sec championship game...but the west is now a lot tougher. I remember when LSU would finish in the top 10...we thought we had arrived...lol....you guys cannot separate a couple of top 10's from an actual team that has been in the hunt for a championship. Reality just does not equal arkansas fans.

furthermore...you can't even win a BCS bowl game. Saying you are a legit top 10 team is using that term very loosely. I would think an actual perenial top 10 team would have least won a conference championship or bcs game. As I said, except for one year, you have capitalized on auburn being down...that will change again soon...you will very soon be back to your normal place of 7-6, 8-5 on a good year. Take a look at the recruiting classes of the teams that have won the last decade worth of NC's.....not many 30th ranked classes there....thus no conference championships or bcs bowl wins for you.

It's because when arky finishes tied for second in the west and then third in the west, they automatically think they are a top ten job when in reality, Arky prob isn't even a top 30 job.

After all that... let me add on to it.

How do you explain Top 30 classes finishing Top 10 two years in a row in the toughest division in football?

When was the last coach to leave Arkansas for another job? I'll give you 50 years to look back at Arkansas' coaches.

Who was it?

Why can't Arkansas get over the hump (Posted on 6/26/12 at 4:57 p.m.)
in football? They got the whole state to themselves (no in state threat), they have good facilities and are a good brand.

But it seems they get close then just shite all over themselves

They can't because the people in control, feel that "Being in Control" is more important than winning so they just continue to "Start Over and Over and Over."

It's tough to be a Hog Fan.

You really did not know anything prior to 2001, did you? You honestly have no clue which is not a problem. I was born in 1986 so I didn't really get the chance to follow good Arkansas' clubs up until Petrino got to town. So at least you can be honest. You probably do not realize that Arkansas had better records than LSU in 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. Had a national championship, more bowl appearances and more top 25 finishes.
And I didn't go back farther than the 60s because I thought 40 years of finishing ahead of LSU would suffice.

You are completely ignorant to just how much Saban did for your program. You took off like a rocket in the 2000s and we got left behind with Nutt. I have to give credit where it is due. That was an awesome hire and he did more for LSU than anyone could have. I hope we can get a coach that does for our program what he did for yours.

Lou Holtz, Ken Hatfield and Eddie Sutton crawled to Kentucky.

You have short term memory loss?

While I have accepted where we are and where we will be all bets are off if we happen to land another Bobby Petrino type. He had us competitive with the big boys.

They were FIRED.

My question stands who was the last Arkansas football coach to leave for another job?

We have coaches leave the NFL for Arkansas not the other way around.

Sun's got a point. We are a destination job. You either get fired or retire here. Not a whole lot of voluntarily leaving for better jobs.

If we had had Petrino back when Shula was at alabama we probably would have won an SEC title by now. A lot of CFB is about timing...we were just in a division where two other teams were dominant when we were peaking too

yeah sure, Lou was FIRED to Notre Dame and then Hatfield just FIRED himself to RICE, you are most delusional like every other Hawg fan out there. Lou Holtz was not fired and neither was Hatfield, they quit because of Paw Paw and his inferiority complex.

Answer is obvious. Bobby Petrino was a great fit for Arkansas and had a brilliant offensive mind. You will miss him a lot.

I don't think it's as much them shitting on themselves as it is LSU and Bama shitting on them.
