If Johnson was better than Nick Marshall, why was Johnson on the bench?

I think when bringing nick in thag it was the plan for JJ to be the guy in 2014....but you can't sit a guy that took you to a championship game and was one of the most clutch players in recent memory

The whole argument that if JJ was so good then why did Nick play is beyond understanding. Was Tim Tebow better than Chris Leak? Was AJ McCarron better than McElroy? Etc…

Sometimes the guy on the bench is great and just not ready…or not as experienced as the guy starting.

Gus doesn't know shite about defense

Boom doesn't know shite about offense

But this brain trust is going to come together and immediately produce a juggernaut. Makes sense obviously.

Boom protected his defense at Florida to the point it cost him his job.

I have serious doubts Muschamp is going to hang around long at a program that lives on hurry up.

Georgia has beaten Auburn 7 of the last 9 years, so yeah, we are bragging. And lots of those games were blowouts.

he does not. His offense looks exactly the same every year.

They have all the pieces on offense to score a ton. Even a slight improvement on defense is going to be significant. Muschamp will be very aggressive knowing that he doesn't have to limit teams to less than 20. I think AU is going to be very good and they'll win a lot of high scoring games.

There are two factors at play here. The first is the assumption the West team will beat the East. Until the East proves otherwise, this assumption will probably continue.

The second factor is that the West is really facing a lot of unknowns. You could make a case for most SEC West teams to win the division. I think a two loss team wins the West this year.
That is why schedule is so important this year. Auburn faces the toughest games at home, Alabama probably has one of the toughest schedules in the country, LSU has some really brutal looking away games and Arkansas has a pretty tough draw from the East.

Those predictions are just in the SEC and those writers are just simple minded. Its Alabama, LSU and Arkansas and not in that order. I remember 2014 and Auburn was in the Top 5. Know one knows what the so called SEC writers were looking at. Auburn appeared to take off games like with Georgia because Alabama was due up. In order for Auburn to get to an 8-5 record was a calculated task by Gus Malzahn (Smart Coach). His defense could not stop anyone so the scoring wars broke out. Auburn does not have Nick Marshall or Sammy Coates and if they did I would agree with a top 5 finish in 2015 along with the addition of Wil Muschamp. Too many key elements missing. 2016 Auburn should make noise but so will Alabama, LSU, and Arkansas. The SEC is just so far ahead in talent that it hurts itself with the National Title Game. Go to an 8 team playoff and 3 or 4 of those teams will be from the SEC. Teams in the Top 10 from the SEC last year from Memory:

Alabama highest ranking #1
Miss St. highest ranking #1
Ole Miss highest ranking #3
Auburn highest ranking #3
Texas A&M highest ranking #4
Georgia highest ranking #8

No other conference can say that. Ohio St. had no one challenge them due to the weak conference they are in.

#1 SEC no shocker Most NFL Draft Picks again
#2 PAC12 2nd in NFL Draft Picks beating the ACC from 2014
#3 BIG12 Sucks in the NFL Draft no shocker here
#4 ACC They are just that The Average Coast Conference
and the rest.

I don't think any team from Alabama will win the west. I definitely see Auburn finishing 3rd or worst. I also don't get the hype.

Only 4 returning offensive starters coupled with how poorly Gus has recruited the past couple of years. I'm thinking 4-8 or 3-9 myself.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner. I think Auburn competes for the West and is within striking distance when the Iron Bowl rolls around. If that is the case having the game at home is a big advantage.

Auburn's schedule is tough but doable. There are some games Auburn could easily lose on there, but every team in the West is looking at making it through a minefield this season.

I think Auburn's season plays out in one of two ways. They either stick close to the Tide all season and play for all the marbles in the Iron Bowl, or they get derailed at some point and stumble badly down the stretch.

The last option seems more unlikely because they finish the home stretch of the season in Auburn and they have only one back to back road game run in their schedule. Auburn doesn't have to be perfect this season, Bama will likely drop at least one game along the way and everyone in the West should have their share of losses as well.

Stay close to the top of the West and play for a shot at Atlanta in the Iron Bowl.

The back to back road games we have is a little more manageable too due to the first being on a Thursday so we have 9 days before the second road game.

They've been seriously misinformed about Jeremy Johnson.
