If Southern Cal and Notre Dame come open, you'd have to think that LSU would become a bit less attractive.

Lol, Notre Dame hasn't been a top program since I was a child.

Saban didn't go to Texas because of Mack, this is literally the exact opposite situation

Not really. It is almost exactly the same.

Jimbo was your Saban, ie your moonshot hire. And Les sticking around fricked that up.

Now the fanbase has moved onto the Charlie Strong-type hire (ie Herman) because the moonshot is off the table.

If you had any degree of separation from the situation you too would see the similarities.

No fricking way, I hate that a-hole for the potshots he has taken at our program. Plus I don't want to rebuild or lose Chavis.

The only fear I have is that Sumlin will be too drunk on this season's success the next couple of months to poach LSU recruits like he should, but I can't control that.

If anybody thinks LSU is a better job than USC and Notre Dame they are not only delusional, but of questionable sanity

Hate to agree wit a Gump , but overall you are right. Our fan base tends to think in terms of talent that LSU becomes a top 3 place to work. The truth has always been different.

I remember back in the 1980's and 1990's Guys like Bobby Bowden would recruit the New Orleans area and harp on the fact that LSU was known for not supporting their coaches if the slightest thing went wrong. Why was it that the top recruits in Louisiana would leave the state. I could list several from the NO area that not only would say no, but hell no even after heavy recruiting.

The LSU fans are probably the most ungrateful fans on the planet. I'll guarantee you that if Miles were going 9-3 or 10-2 with an exciting offense there would still be major calls to look for another coach.

USC is a legitimate threat.

Lets just see how the cards fall.

Last year it was Jimbeaux all the way. Last I saw him, he was still at FSU. On the decline the past two seasons with a loaded roster. Hhhmmm sounds familiar

Unless its Saban, I doubt anyone is scared.
There are many big name HCs in this conf, i dont see one name out there who would have them losing sleep.

I have no damn clue. However, I like Briles. I used to watch his pressers and post game speeches because I love his offensive philosophy. If we could nab him up as an OC that would make me happy.

Its massive overconfidence, I mean we had to settle for McElwain (fingers crossed the timing lines up and we can get a shot at Chip Kelly in 2017 or so).

And he was a pretty good hire on paper at the time.

There are too few Urban Meyers and too many jobs.
