LSU is easily a better job than Norte Dame. How could you possibly argue otherwise.
Kevin Sumlin turned down USC to stay at A&M in 2013. Of course, it cost the Aggies $30 million but the point is USC is no longer a place coaches set at the top.

I have never said that I thought Herman was going to be the next LSU coach. I have no clue who it will be. If Houston gets into the Big 12 I'm not sure Herman will leave Houston. If I was running the search would I make Herman say No? Yep

You ever think about how Notre Dame has been a dream job of his mentor and that IF he was offered he may ask his mentor for his thoughts on ND vs and SECw job? What do you think Urbbwould say
The same Urbb who didnt take the Notre Dame job when he had a chance to?

You dont talk directly to the coaches, you talk to the agent. You really think LSU is going to be sitting around doing nothing until the season is over?
No "home-run hire" is even going to care we need a coach.
They have their own teams and seasons to deal with.
Unless Jimbo shits the bed and falls out of ACC contention.
Course, I really don't want a guy that got demolished by another guy who couldn't beat the coach we just fired.

ND is not firing kelly and SC is not a good job right now.
Let things play out.

Texas has been said multiple times to be the dream job for Herman.
You know that is going to come open soon or sooner, and Texas will have to hop at the opportunity to pick him up.
He has Houston in a very good spot right now, why would he bail on that for a few years to head to LSU and potentially ruin his stock while implementing his system?
It honestly makes no sense

Yeah. That same Urb who thought that Florida was better positioned to win so that's why he took it. And he was right. That same Urb who had no experience in the sec but now does and his perspective likely has changed (he did get the hell out pretty quickly). That same Urb who likely looks at LSU having to compete in the toughest conference in the toughest division in all of CFB and doesn't view the opportunity there as being what an LSU fan views it as.
You act as if Urb passed on ND two years ago instead of 12. You act as if nothing has changed since that decision.

You realize the "fans" don't hire the coaches?

From all reports Herman is staying in Texas or the immediate area around Texas.
This is false. There are no such reports. There are just several fam bases in TX that decided they would like to have Herman. He almost landed in South Carolina last year.

You realize that it has to be a personality fit with the coach and AD etc. and the family plays a factor in it as well. It's not always about the money.

There is absolutely 100% no way Herman is the next coach at LSU. Bookmark it and forget about it.

Not sure. But its an mid to upper tier SEC school that is a step up from HOU. Great talent in state and big following in Houston(lots of alumni there) area which he has a ton of recruitment experience in.
Southern Cal has been a mess since Pete left. you could argue it's not even the best program in town.
Notre Dame has high academic standards compared to the rest of the country. Its hard to get great players to go there.
Not a sure thing at all, but its a possibility. Its more want that arrogance imo. But he has also stated many times that he is happy where he is. He may want to see how high he can take Houston. Kind of like Peterson did with Boise St.

You forgot the wildcard job...UH in the B12
That's where my money is. He's staying put for now.

LSU has a huge head start.
That only helps programs with competent ADs like Arky.
When you have an incompetent AD like Joe it just means a longer burning dumpster fire of a hire like USCe.

LSU doesn't have a head start though. I don't think you can talk with other coaches currently employed during the season. This was just handled strangely. I understand why he was fired just don't get the timing.

If Houston's favorite mafioso, Tilman Fertitta, can somehow get UH into the Big XII, I think Tom Herman stays, with a big raise, and keeps cashing Fertitta's checks.
That's the big wildcard here.

well he passed on it when they hired Kelley in 2010 as well, and again, im not saying LSU is getting Herman, chances are we wont. Im just saying to think we have no chance is ridiculous.

You can talk to the agent though and the agent can talk to his client to gauge interest.
