LOL. So two of the top 10 programs of all time - both with the resources needed to succeed - would be non factors.
You ever think about how Notre Dame has been a dream job of his mentor and that IF he was offered he may ask his mentor for his thoughts on ND vs and SECw job? What do you think Urbbwould say?
How about the fact that his wife and her family are Cali people? Think her thoughts would be a non factor if USC came calling?
This is what LSU does better than any other program. You hype something up and convince yourselves it's done (Saban to Texas, Jimbo to LSU, your mythical 4 year championship cycle, that you'll be favored in every game this year, that you are actually contenders). Then, you spend your time trying to convince the rest of us that what you believe is true. And it never happens. One would expect you to learn at some point and take more of a wait and see approach, but that's not your way.
You guys are an optimistic bunch and I love you for it.

When did Meyer become Herman's mentor?
Also, take a breath. You're getting very heated on an online message board.

And that didn't help USC at all last year.

I promise you, no one is afraid of LSU right now. No one. We aren't overly concerned with whoever your next hire is. Outside of a great stretch from 2000-2011, you're historically a middle of pack SEC team.
The only fear out there right now is from LSU fans who are afraid you are about to be middle of the pack again.

Suppose Herman says no or the Texas job becomes open and he decides to go there. Then where does LSU turn? Not a lot of known quantities out there.

that's funny, the last time those two went head to head, herman's offense schooled saban.

He's not a lock by any means, but I would imagine that at this moment his top 2 choices for next year are to remain at Houston or to go to LSU...
Why Not LSU?
What other schools will be looking for a head coach that have the ability to compete for championships the moment you step foot on campus? Not to mention that your old roommate is running an incredible defense. All you need to do is tune up the offense (your forte) to be a little better than the prehistoric shite we are running right now. Oh and do you want to bring along your OC from Houston who was born and raised in Baton Rouge? Cause he can come too.
The only other viable option for him at this moment would be to stay at Houston, and their pitch relies on going to the big 12 next year. I don't think its a money thing at all, its a status thing, a competing at the highest level of college football thing.

LSU was firmly middle of the pack for the last 3 or 4 seasons and looked to be trending lower because of an atrocious offense. The fear was that LSU would not take steps to reverse that trend. That fear is lifted and now here's my take. Ole Miss offense is giving Saban defenses fits with a coach few had previously known. LSU is going to hire the best offensive coach available and pair him with athletes vastly superior to what Ole Miss can offer. I'm guessing next year in Tuscaloosa will be a can't miss track meet that will have Saban screaming at Kiffen who might be on the other side of the field.

You know, the more you repreat yourself it becomes more about trying to convince yourself than it is that you're trying to convince others. tFear is real. tDecline is over. tSEC friiiicked.

I don't see why LSU fans would be confident about Joey Alleva getting anything right.
The handling of Miles last year made the Athletic Dept. a national laughing stock.
The basketball team set a historically poor mark after they let a true freshman turn a once proud program into a circus.
I guess he's kept his nose out of baseball?
What's his career highlight, hiring Cutt at Duke?
