Why are LSU fans so sure about Tom Herman?

If Southern Cal and Notre Dame come open, you'd have to think that LSU would become a bit less attractive.

Herman would tear the Pac-12 up at Southern Cal.

It's called delusion and over confidence that it's a better job than others out there.

Let them be. He won't commit maybe until January at the soonest and that will drive them bonkers.

From all reports Herman is staying in Texas or the immediate area around Texas. So I would think that USC and Notre Dame are not factors.

Why didn't he go to USC last year?

Brian Kelly isn't getting fired.

Why do you guys lump all fans together? Would it be fair to say all A&M fans were closet homosexuals who loved to pork sheep? Ok ok I know bad example, but you get the point

I get that, and I understand that. But you have to remember, he reportedly flirted heavily with the South Carolina job before backing out (can't blame him).

But, Herman could recruit nationally at Southern Cal and Notre Dame. If it is a concern about his recruiting in the state of Texas, he could overcome that at other big time schools.

If anybody thinks LSU is a better job than USC and Notre Dame they are not only delusional, but of questionable sanity.

Its a better job that any of the others out there that will possibly be available this off season save USC or Texas if they become open and maybe Notre Dame (im not convinced this is a better job anymore) and LSU has a huge head start. Does any of this mean that LSU is getting Herman, no, but all you people who act like LSU has no chance are fricking retarded.

Because did you see how interested Jimbo Fisher was in the job last year?

LOL. So two of the top 10 programs of all time - both with the resources needed to succeed - would be non factors.

You ever think about how Notre Dame has been a dream job of his mentor and that IF he was offered he may ask his mentor for his thoughts on ND vs and SECw job? What do you think Urbbwould say?

How about the fact that his wife and her family are Cali people? Think her thoughts would be a non factor if USC came calling?

This is what LSU does better than any other program. You hype something up and convince yourselves it's done (Saban to Texas, Jimbo to LSU, your mythical 4 year championship cycle, that you'll be favored in every game this year, that you are actually contenders). Then, you spend your time trying to convince the rest of us that what you believe is true. And it never happens. One would expect you to learn at some point and take more of a wait and see approach, but that's not your way.

You guys are an optimistic bunch and I love you for it.

Fair point, thanks for coming with comments other than "his wife is from cali".

I have heard many reports that he wants to stay around the state of Texas.

You dont talk directly to the coaches, you talk to the agent. You really think LSU is going to be sitting around doing nothing until the season is over?

I just know that I'll have fun reading the Tiger Rant if Houston somehow gets into the Big 12.
