Last year was the 2010 version

And not as good stat wise...2010 gave up 286 a game and 13.5 ppg

Last year they gave up 368 ypg and 18.4 ppg.....

They lost three conference games and it could have been 4...

I believe Alabama will not loose a regular season game UGA, AU and LSU has the best chance to knock the Tide off.But it's not going to happen UA defense will be a lot better than the rest of the SEC the front 7 will be wicked and they go 3 deep we have great linebackers and we have a new secondary coach and we have the talent 6 or 7 5* who run a 4.4 or better they ill get better each game. UGA will not beat us even with Chubb our run d is awesome we have LSU# number and AU lost 5 games last year with a good recruiting class I am afraid AU will not be up to par not yet. Good luck too all of the SEC except UT.

Loose is what a Bourbon street whore is...

Lose is what happens when the other team beats you.

It's not that hard, but everyone fricks it up, over and over again.

This is some premeditated LSU-style excuse making, brah.

Wisconsin
MTSU
Mississippi
ULM
@ Georgia

Bama has 3 tough game in the first 5 games, and after visiting Georgia's place. An upstart Arkansas team awaits next week and this might be the game that cost Bama the SEC. Regardless, Bama needs to get back to aggressive physical football......

That is a tough schedule, no doubt.

After reading this thread, I am really looking forward to going down to Baton Rouge and witness LSU curb stomping Auburn in person. Cant wait.

Auburn, lulz.

You are deluded if you think that will be a blow out either way.

LSU should be more concerned about Miss State atm.

And for perspective the Ohio State Scheduled first five games:
1. @ Virginia Tech
2. Hawaii
3. Northern Illinois
4. Western Michigan
5. @ Indiana

I just read the 1st and last page of this thread. I'll say this. This year more question marks exist than answers for almost every SEC team except perhaps Vandy. Dak is the only really proven QB in the league. Yes UT, Hogs, Mizzou, and TAM have returning starters, but none of them really "wowed" anybody. None of them beat a really good team. Johnson is the new Coker this year. Gus may get him there or maybe this is Coker's year...nobody knows.

Many teams can point to excellent proven position groups, but no one can point to all of them.

As an LSU fan I wouldn't be shocked to see 6-6 or 12-0. No surprise at 7-5 or 11-1 because it is easy to make arguments either way. Many teams in the SEC are similar.

Many are counting on new coaches to make an immediate difference. DC's at TAM and AUB come to mind despite their hurry up offenses.

Can Hogs finally win a close game? Does LSU have a decent QB? Is the Old Ball Coach done? Is UF with their talent the same team we have seen for two years. Can Butch actually win a couple or more big games? Can UGA get over the long hump of being a good team to a great team? Can the Mississippi schools build on their success? Is Mizzou just a product of the east being down? Is Stoops ready to take the next step at UK?

Now to Alabama which was the OPs focus. Depending on how the aforementioned questions are answered with the other teams. I could see them going 12-0 or 8-4. I expect it will be between 9-3 and 11-1. I have no idea which teams will beat them because it could be any of the 8 SEC teams. Clearly some more likely than others, but every year is different than the previous one.

Bama will lose to UGA, LSU and somebody else, maybe Arkansas.

It was a good run though Bammers. Keep your heads up.

I have them losing 3 out of this group

Auburn
LSU
A&M
Georgia

Ole Miss Arky & Tennessee are potential trap games but I don't see them losing either of those

Alabama goes to Georgia. Georgia is going to run right at them. They'll probably beat Georgia, but their defensive front 7 is going to fly back to Tuscaloosa with some broken blood vessels under their chests.

7 days later Arkansas comes to town. Arkansas is going to run right into them. Those bruises are going to be sprouting bruises but Alabama will PROBABLY win.

Meanwhile A&M will be sitting home watching Arkansas at Alabama.

Alabama will come to College Station. They'll be thinking, "Thank God we're playing a passing team this week!" If A&M pulls out the shenanigan magic show and strategically plays Tre Carson up the middle then Bama may well be surrenderng in the 1st Quarter.

JJ had better stats in the one half he played against Arkansas than Harris had in all of his SEC play.

Brandon Harris vs. SEC

9/24 37.5% 198 yards 2 TDs 2 INTs

Jeremy Johnson vs. Arkansas

12/16 75.0% 243 yards 2 TD's 0 Int's 99.2 QBR

Season Stats:

Brandon Harris: 25/45 452 yards 55.6% 6 TD's 2 Int's 68.7 QBR in 6 games

Jeremy Johnson: 28/37 436 yards 75.7% 3 TD's 0 Int's 98.8 QBR in 6 games

I will take JJ all day, every day over Harris!!

I do not understand why so many people are discounting Ole Miss. Their defense will still be really good and Alabama will have a talented, yet less experienced offense that I am sure the Ole Miss D is eager to attack.

Good post. The casual observers remember only that we played terrible games at the end of last year against Arky and TCU. People who know more about our program recognize that we've added talent and depth on defense, our OL has been shored up and will be better, our QB won't be playing with a bum shoulder, and we will have more playmakers on offense as well.

Our defense should give us a chance to win any game on our schedule; the offense should be improved enough to capitalize on those chances.

You could honestly make a case for everyone in the West, as well as UGA and UT, having a chance to beat Bama. Bama's QB situation and inexperience of the returning starters on offense could make for a disastrous year if the cards fell just right IMO.

This league is frickin stacked.
