If the 2007 lsu team hadn't been beaten by 2 scrubs, it would be lsu. That lsu team was the worst champ in the bcs era. As it stands, i would say uf or usc.

That 2007 team...healthy....was the best that year. Doesn't matter HOW they got there Gump.

In the OP I said from 2000-Present technically its 11 years, but close enough

I know, but the OP also said of the last decade and then defined that as starting at 2000.

His title and post are kind of contradictory, I just assume go with the decade staring with 2000 instead of extending it. AU can claim to have an undefeated BCSNC and Heisman for the first year of this decade. They are trend setters.

if you had a losing record in that time frame you should automatically be eliminated

And thus USC is eliminated from the discussion they didn't even have a winning record for 20% of the decade (2000 & 2001 went 12-13 and 0-1 in bowls)

well we could apply that heisman shite all through history and it looks like bama isn't the greatest thing ever.

using the heisman as a measure of success is extremely flawed considering how its awarded.

but lets use the heismans so auburn is 3 x the program that bama is

im starting to get the feeling that this thread is just another well disguised flame thread.

Its either LSU or UF...any other answer means you're stupid and should wear a helmet at all times.

They wouldn't even bring it up, had they been the 2-loss team to get in.

We had the better resume, won the SEC, and dominated OSU.

I think UF having three 5 loss seasons hurts them as well.

Lsu had one.

Any of these schools would have an argument, depening upon one's definition of dominant:

Pac12
USC

Big12
OU
Texas

SEC
Florida
LSU

Big10
OhioSt

IMO, throw out Texas (because of fewer conference titles than LSU/Florida in a weaker league)....And throw out OhioSt/Oklahoma because they were beaten down ON FIELD TWICE vs both LSU/Florida...and the argument could be made to throw out USC because of their scandal. So that leaves you with:

LSU/Florida

Pretty much equal there, but if you look at total wins over the decade since titles are equal, then LSU gets the edge

nah man clearly titles that get taken away and stupid post season awards are the better way to pick the best team, not the wins and losses and actual titles won.

Doesn't belong on this list.

It's b/t USC and Florida but the most dominant was USC.

maybe not, but if you look at the total games won by Ohio State and OU, and the fact they finished in the top 10 and won their conference almost every year, they were consistantly dominant, even though they never quite reached the top levels of USC or Florida

But if you were to argue that dominant means most top 10 seasons, you could make an argument that OU and Ohio State were the most consistantly dominant of all the programs

I'm not making that argument... but someone could if they wanted to

And the haters give Les/LSU hell for that one 5 loss season are absent when it is brought up that the Gators did three years in a row.

Dominate Teams don't lose Bowl Games.......especially BCS one's.

Like I said above, I'm not sure how Ohio State and OU are even leading candidates, seeing as though BOTH lost to other candidates (LSU/Florida), not once....but TWICE on the field.
