I think the winner will definitely be one of the East's Big Fiive - UGA, UF, UM, USC or UT. Of that I am confident.

With that logic Auburn should have never done anything in 2013

If Mizzou can leave Columbia S.C With a win then I think our chances to win the division are out of this world.

We have a super favorable schedule outside of that game and the Florida game.

Mizzou will be solid on offense, but losing StopKony2012, and The Rainbow Warrior on that d line is going to hurt.

Believe it or not, their replacements are going to be better than them.

The losses that hurt are along the OLine, EJ Gaines, Henry Josey, Ladainian Washington and DGWeed.

I simply don't believe it. If their replacements were BETTER, as you claim, then they would have been starting. You can say "we will get nearly as much production" or "we shouldn't see much dropoff"...but to say they will be BETTER is just asinine.

Amen ... and it puzzles me why Mizzou fans are so unwilling to accept that as the most likely scenario. And, who knows, but maybe they will be better as the season progresses, we all hope the same thing for all of our new starters. But anyone who has been around the SEC for any length of time knows better and understands the odds are against it, especially when you lose two players like Sam and Ealy.

I'll go UGA but I was so far wrong last year it's just a guess. It's a wide open division for the opposite reason that the west is.

I love the logic on these boards:

Team A loses:

Best DE in football
Huge DT
Starting WR
Starting CB/S
Starting QB

Will win the division.

Team B loses:

Two good DE's
Starting QB
Starting CB
Starting WR's

Will "fall off a cliff" this year

Someone explain to me how Dylan Thompson is going to lead the Cocks to anything. If I recall the moment he was given an opportunity to do anything last year he shat all over himself. But he has "experience"

UGA and Mizzou will be decided by who wins their H2H game. Cocks finish a distant 3rd with more excuses then they have feathers.

I doubt he's actually an Auburn fan. Way too obsessed with A&M and not nearly friendly enough.

I think the East will be improved and has a chance to be deeper than the West this year.

Georgia has a week off before the SC and Florida game this season? Clemson, SC, Florida, Mizzou, and Auburn have lost key players to the draft. We have a new DC that has proven he can win big games with his scheme and his expertise is our weakness a season ago so I look for improvement there. We have coming back what I think is going to be a bad arse front seven on defense. We are dedicating more attention to special teams. Even with the crappy D and injuries four of the five losses from last season were a TD or less (I say again, "with all the injuries!") now we are getting back all our injured and our defense will be more experienced and hungry.. That could help us.

For SC Dylan Thomas or Thompson not sure anyway he's a great QB and I see him doing well if they can keep him upright. He's a true pocket passer though and no threat to run but when he came in he produced. They also have MDavis so their backfield should be stout. I think their defense will be good but will miss the pieces they lost. This is just me but I think since Ellis left their defense has slowly been dropping off but they seem to put together a good game.

Florida gets all their injured back and keep in mind with them in they were good even with a mediocre offense. Now they may have the scheme to get them over the hump. Their obstacle is their schedule. Yikes.

Look for Vandy to fall a lil (Due to lost pieces and Coaches) and Kentucky to rise under Stoops. He should field a lil better team now that they have had a year to learn things his way and he's gotten in some good pieces to fill in the gaps in production.

Tennessee is drinking the coolaid and really starting to believe. They've done pretty good recruiting and should be better but I can't keep from thinking they drop a couple this year that they shouldn't.

Mizzou will be good dispite their losses... maybe a lil weaker on defense but no dropoff in the QB department. They have seven home games and bye weeks before the Georgia game and I think A&M so thier schedule is nice and easy.

The big question for all these teams is who gets the injury bug next???

Lets say we have two projected first round draft picks at the dline next year.

This year we had a 2nd and 7th rounder.

This is why people say our replacements will be better.

We lost 2 OL starters, one of whom was drafted. We return 3 starters, including one on the Rimington watch list, and several more with experience.

As always though, staying healthy will be key, for all our teams.

There are 62 centers (or almost half of all the centers in college football) named to the watch list.

Kentucky's Jon Toth, a RSSO who weighed 270lbs last year is named to the Rimington watch list.

11 of 14 teams in the SEC have a center named to the Rimington watch list.

The only three excluded are Arky, Ole Miss, and Tennessee.
