and no not really. They should be a lot better than they are.

I reviewed his record and noticed the loss of his first game to Arkansas State. I guess I was confused. But I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now.

The smartest thing that the AD did after last season was update the contract to force a buyout clause. Prior to that, if A&M fired Sherman, they would have owed the full remainder of the contract. Now, they have a sliding buyout scale; in which they owe $1.8 Million if they fire him this season, $1.4 Million if they fire him next season, etc.

Frankly, I'm surprised the 2008 team managed to win 4 games.

You're talking about a team that:

-Returned zero starters on the OL (Had a total of 6 scholarship OLinemen with a walkon at Center)

-At one point had all 3 QBs on the field at the same time (1 at WR, 1 at TE)

-Had 6 scholarship players at LB (2 were converted WR, 1 was a converted DB)

-Started walkons at CB, LB, C, and K

There were some MAJOR problems when Franchione left.

God I fricking hate Fran...that SOB was the most incompetent POS in college football....the worst part was that he had all kinds of unwarranted arrogance which helped further alienate high school coaches.

frick Fran and frick Alabama for having pending sanctions thus making his decision to leave that much easier.

For the love of God....

Ya'll haven't beaten an SEC team in 16+ years and it hasn't been from a lack of tryin'.

Get to work!

I know. Along with adamwilson's statement, that was all it took for me to get an entirely new perspective.

no I'm WISHING. It's not going to happen as we will still win enough games so he will stay.

No offense. However, that is one of the worse wish list ever created. If UGA cannot do any better than that five (minus Gary Patterson) they better keep Mark Richt or close the football team down and invest in revitalizing the womens gymnastic program.

What's Sweeney's deal at Clemson?

mediocre coach who is finally doing something this year. However, one can argue his success is the result of his OC Chad Morris. Morris is one of the best and brightest OC's in the entire country.

Meyer, Saban, Stoops or Pete Carroll

Meyer NO. maybe THE Ohio State, if he deals with his anxiety issues. I doubt he will ever coach again.

Saban NO frickING WAY

Stoops. unlikely but if they opened the bank, maybe

Pete only if he gets canned at Seattle. Since he already got a shite team to the 2nd round of NFL playoffs, he is not going anywhere for a while, at least.

My suggestion: Eric Mangini

Too ironic that this article was posted earlier today on TA.

dont be too upset, he would have skipped town after a year or two anyway for a bigger job

look at it as, saving yourself from being good for half a minute and having it all taken away before you fully got to enjoy it

If Urban would have done what he did at Florida, A&M would have locked him down with the coin. And they'd have it too.

Now it could be that he would have taken less to go somewhere else, but A&M would have most certainly matched anything offered.

A&M is not a stepping stone job and never has been...Yes, the Bear did leave for Bama, but he went on record multiple times saying that was the ONLY school he would have left.

Of course, the last coach we had that was worth a shite was RC. To give you some perspective, he turned down LSU in the 90s. I thought it was interesting that he never disclosed that until after getting the boot.

Urban would NOT have won any National Championships at A&M. he would have been there for 1 year, maybe 2. He would NOT have had Tim Tebow. He would have left after year 2 for Florida or Notre Dame or somewhere
