Considering where we were when he started? Yeah, he has come a long way. Do you think putting a brand new coaching staff into place the year before we start playing in the toughest conference in the nation is a good idea? Talk about going full retard.

Nice win seasons are hard to come by regardless of what conference you play in. Yeah, I'm pissed off. We are two plays away from being an undefeated top five team. Replacing a head coach and staff isn't the answer.

I agree. Sherman is a good coach and has had a lot of success since he's been at A&M. I'll bet he wishes that he had chanced going for it on 4th down a couple of times on Saturday, but that's hindsight and there's still no guarantees that things would have turned out any differently.

Let's say for argument's sake that a big money Ag came to the table and made it possible for A&M to throw $4 mil per year out.

Does that change who would become a realistic coaching hire?

Could the move to the SEC, A&M's new player development center (breaking ground in Jan.), decent talent on the roster, good 2012 class, pull in a BIG name?

I just don't see a lot of BIG name guys looking to leave any job they currently have for any other. I mean aside from Stoops, Saban, and Miles, what other BIG name guy is out there right now?

Urban is the only BIG name guy who is not currently at a destination job. He could go wherever he wanted. If A&M threw out 4 mill would he come? I doubt it.

So then you look at guys like Smart, Malzahn, Mullen, Morris (maybe), Golden.

None of those guys provide the huge splash that A&M needs to match the huge splash we're making in moving to the SEC.

Maybe we'll know more about the next big name at season's end.

I guess you could throw Chizik and Kelley in as BIG name guys...But Chizik is not obtainable and I don't think Kelley would be a good hire for a SEC school.

If you got $4,000,000 I'd go get Mike Gundy if T.Boone didn't match it...Gundy would do well in the SEC IMO..
