One day when Alabama makes it to the national championship and loses. That will be my most heartbreaking loss. I promise.
Until then, you've already admitted that your most heartbreaking loss was the 2013 IB.

Sorry if we Barners don't have broken hearts after losing in the final seconds of the BCSCG. Perhaps we just aren't as sensitive about such things as you.

There is no bigger loss than losing a NC game. Especially If your team has only played in 2 of them in its history.

There is no bigger loss than when the stakes are the highest.

Just ask USC/Texas 2005.

Bama going for a 3-peat...to make history...argues for one more second...and then gets beat on a freak play because of hubris.

No doubt Bama wins the SEC if they beat Auburn and has a great chance at beating FSU.

That Bama loss...like USC in 2005 on 4th and 2 and a 34-game win streak on the line with a 3rd AP title within 2 yards...will haunt you forever.

Auburn wasn't going for doing something nobody has ever done before in the history of CFB...Bama was.

Don't hide your heartache. Auburn had a great year. They weren't the defending favorites.

I'm o.k. with losing to FSU, they were equal to us. The loss that really sucked was the LSU game because of the rain. I can handle a loss to an equal team but when you lose because of weather conditions it is difficult to handle.

Sorry, pal. I was there. You were owned during and after the rain. Our fans and team just got bored and left after three quarters. Deal with this.

I'm not heartbroken at all. AU had an outstanding season. yeah we lost the title game but honestly we werent even supposed to be there so how in the hell do you realistically get heartbroken over that. bama on the other hand...greatest of all time & all that. after being pumped up all year by the media combined with their own inflated expectations I could see how it could be pretty disappointing. either way, they both had pretty good seasons and both have a lot to look forward to next season.

So it only rained on Auburn's players?

I never considered this being the worse loss AU has faced, but since you brought it up I think there is an argument there (even if I don't feel that way). The worse feeling I've ever had at a game was the '85 Iron Bowl.

Since I'm pretty sure Bama couldn't have beat FSU, the next best thing to winning the championship is watching Auburn LOSE it.....

Let's see... You will forever be remembered as THE sec team that couldn't defend the defend the crystal football. Remembered as being able to steal a win from Big Brother, but not being able to fill his shoes when it mattered....

Sure you don't... I work with a few aubies. When they finally made it to work on tuesday, they looked like their house had just burned down with their entire family inside.
Will give auburn fans one thing.... You have experienced something that Bama fans have NEVER experienced... Losing the National Championship!!! Congratulations!

How many people will still remember the Kick-6 that killed the chance for Bama to claim a Dynasty, twenty years from now ? How many fans will remember how AU loss to FSU ? The Kick 6 replace the 73 Sugar Bowl as the most heartbreaking loss for bama fans, and most of the older crowd still talk about that game.

projecting much? i don't know what it's like in the bubble you live in....but for the rest of the rational world, whenever people reflect on the 2013 season, bama's gagging in the IB will be the lead story, with their follow-up sugar bowl washout as a distant second. but hey, if thinking the way you do helps get you through your day, more power to ya

and i'll never get tired of the "big brother" talk that certain bammers cling to. thank you, thank you, thank you...never stop thinking that. all i know is, since i started following auburn (in other words, the only period of time i personally give a shite), they lead the series 16-12, and have a winning record in both BDS & JHS. during that time, the so-called "big brother" had to claim a few extra fictitious titles along the way to puff up their self-importance. if the prize for earning the title of "big brother" is being perceived as a bunch of insecure, dysfunctional, knuckle-dragging assclowns, then congrats on a well-deserved feat (but of course, many condolences to the good people of bama who are lumped in by association)

Objectively, it appeared that auburn had already won the "championship" in 2013 by beating bama.

Everything else appeared to be lagniappe.

I'd say our one point loss to Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl that kept us from winning the 1974 national title.
