Show what was factually incorrect.

ETA: Got nothing? Shocking.

Funny how things play out

Playing vt in 07 got us the NC. Playing Oregon in 11 might have cost us the NC

I think a one loss Oregon (coming off a title appearance) could have got in over bama. Something Oklahoma state didn't have the clout to pull off.

True, but Bama outscored LSU 27-6 and outgained LSU 679 - 331 combined.

Even in the loss, Alabama appeared better in every facet aside from placekicking (not exceedingly so in the first game, but still) while Alabama dominated every facet of the game in the title game.

Plus y'all had to play a top 10 Georgia team in their own state while we slid into the BCS title game

The fact that JJ couldn't get a first down in the first half against Georgia's 3-4 D should have shown miles not to bring that same offense against bamas 3-4 D.

They basically did the same thing for 2 halves

Oh well. Y'all won fair and square on 1-9-12.

Most of that discrepancy is due to the one game.

Adding the numbers together from both doesn't change that. No one is denying Bama dominated the 2nd matchup.

Honestly? I can assure you Oregon would have gotten in over us.

They had a conference CG; OSU did not.
Their loss was to 10-2 USC. OSU's loss was to (at time of selection) 6-6 and unranked Iowa State.

So yes, if LSU had not played Oregon and the team they played instead could not beat them, then LSU would have played Oregon in the BCSCG. Even if Alabama was better than Oregon, there wasn't going to be enough of a gap to convince voters - of this, I'm certain.

Football

And kind of. You knew you had a shite kicker and kept kicking 40+ yard field goals. Maybe you should have gotten closer. We were inside the 10 yard line twice. I don't think you got into the redzone once the first matchup

And if you want to blame your kicker for the ones you missed I'll blame Jarrett Lee for the field goals you made.

Also:
-Russell Shepard decided to fall down when he could have walked into the end zone...
-Michael ford nipped the sideline without being touched before running into the end zone...

^ Blame game is never ending. We could both do this for days.
LSU won game 1, you won game 2

If someone says something ignorant, I'm going to call them on it.

Saying Bama is clearly better because they went 1-1 against a team, but won in dominating fashion is ignorant, and I called him on it. History backs that up along with the results of the season, up to that point, and the results of the drafts. Both teams were loaded, to say they weren't evenly matched is false.

Others are starting to take the same path, so there's no point in continued call for civility, I guess.

As far as to who was clearly better, it's always going to be a sticking point. LSU fans are going to point out that the two teams split the series evenly, and they're absolutely right. Bama fans are going to point out that LSU won in overtime by 3 and then got smashed in the title game, and they're absolutely right. There's really no debating the facts, so all people can do is debate which perspective they find more compelling.

Frankly, as someone (you?) pointed out in this thread, Miles really screwed the pooch for y'all. Had it been a close game (say, another 9-6 win, but for Bama) these arguments would practically disappear. Some crazy fans from both sides would still try to argue the point, but most fans would see how futile the discussion would be in comparing two very close games.

The notion that your personal assessment of 21-0 is "factual" is beyond stupid..and not surprising.

It doesn't really show up in the stats but Eric Reid made what seemed like the play of the year. Maybe the play of the decade. He raped that big TE to win the game.

I haven't made an assessment of 21-0. Can you read?

Saying one team isn't clearly better because of a rematch after losing the first is not as assessment of a game. Just FYI

If Bama fans want to make a point saying they were the better team in 2011. Do it. There's a solid argument to be made.

Just don't present it as there's no argument against it, because there is.

Your second thread about 07 LSU today. Why are you melting over a team from 9 fricking years ago?
Arkansas beat LSU in 3OT to end the season.

And to prove how insignificant Arkansas is, LSU still played for the Natty.

Truth.

Bama was better than LSU that year.

But Bama should not have played for the BCS.
