Seems to be the consensus. I'd edit but that doesn't make any sense. I guess I'm wrong about USC.

First of all don't say Bammers believe when I am literally the only one in this thread (until that post right above me). My opinions are my own and I don't speak for this fanbase. Secondedly, the only person to mention Heisman in this thread is you. Thirdly, major knee injury is debatable. It was a meniscus not an ACL or MCL.

You are not the only bammer who is posting about the expected greatness of Coker. If he is an upgrade to the Heisman runnerup, I think you implied about his future Heisman campaign. The kid will not be on campus until July, yet fans are expecting greatness without even seeing him play a down. His HS film was not impressive and his mop up duty looked average at best. The talking heads are singing his praise because he was the backup to the Heisman winner and he performed well in FSUs Spring Game.

I don't know why you keep bringing up the Heisman. AJ's second place finish was clearly a move to honor his career. You are right, Coker looked average in the spot duty he got at FSU. That doesn't change his talent level or potential celling. I think both of those are higher than AJs thus an upgrade.

It's not just talking heads singing his praises. Former coaches for FSU have laid heavy praise on Jake. Does that mean much? Probably not, but it's nice to hear a coach lose or knowing he will lose a player to transfer and still talk so highly about them.

How Recent? There was a YouTube video floating around of all his plays at FSU last year. I'm on mobile so no link but searching should yield something.

What a mouthbreather. I can totally see this guy getting busted by the cops for doing donuts in his white Mitsubishi Eclipse in the local Walmart parking lot.

well with the way we run such a low risk offense we don't exactly need to have improved QB play to still get 10 or more wins

Yea you would prefer to have AJ under center but if we play boring Alabama offense and our defense plays to it's recent standards we won't need a Heisman trophy level of QB to win

our past two quarterbacks won in their first year starting playing in this type of low risk system

just sayin

A&M is getting an upgrade. I don't realize how much of a liability Manziel was until adammwilson started showing me those charts that show how bad he was against the rush. It seems pretty ironclad, to be honest. Lots of interceptions, you know. At the QB position for A&M, nowhere to go but up!

AU should be getting an upgrade...Marshall will be that much better in year 2. His passing has to go up.

You must have missed the thread where we discussed the fact that all of the SEC defensive coordinators have a year of film on him now. They'll be prepared next year. The reasonable thing is to expect a slump.

You weren't here when UTK had Jim Bob Cooter under center.

Yep. It's a Volunteer Tradition.

Drew Barker will definitely be an upgrade, assuming that they don't try to redshirt him.

Here is a player that was not recruited heavily by any school

He had an offer from the National Champions after his first camp there.

He's 6'5" 235 with what Randy Shannon called "the best arm I've seen in 25 years of coaching"

You morons don't know what talent means. It has nothing to do with experience or mental capacity as a QB. Talent is a separate tool entirely.

The jury is out on whether or not Coker will be a good quarterback, I don't think anyone is arguing that. It is not debatable that he has more physical tools than AJ
