Gainesville is redneck. The surrounding area is farm land. But students of uf aren't. Most rednecks go to fsu over uf. They will deny ot but notice which fan base has more camo and cowboy hats...It's always Fsu.

Tennessee = hillbilly
Alabama = redneck
Alabama = redneck

Alabama, Florida, and Arkansas are on top of this one.

This is a slam dunk. I think we all know which fan base has the most redneck fans on earth.
Posted on 8/8/13 at 6:35 am to Priapus
Only because of the size of their fan base, easy; Alabama. Had you asked for largest percentage, that would be tougher to answer.

Then there's Vandy...

This is like asking "what soda has the most sugar?".
My answer though is Alabama and Georgia.

This comment is a special kind of stupid, considering that, off the top of my head, UF, UGA, Ole Miss and USC have all produced famously well-received authors and writers.
As to the original comment at hand, I've lived in SC, Georgia, and Tennessee, and have family from north Florida, and I can honestly say that it's a dead heat among those crew. Most SC fans/alums I've met have been incredibly preppy, but I'm also sure that we have our share of 'necks.
But the UGA fan trying to curse us with that troll Honey Boo Boo is rich.

And white trash people are everywhere. I have been to a few Big10 games. Wisconsin, Ohio State and Penn St., so it isn't exclusive to SEC fanbases either.

Dale Jr.'s favorite team is the Gamecocks that gives us a few redneck points.

Tell ya what, drive through the Golden Triangle of MS, stop at every gas station, and then tell me what you think.

By percentage it's probably a 13 way tie (Vandy excluded). If you believe your own fanbase shouldn't be included then you're in denial.

It would be safe to say each school in the SEC has more than its fair share of rednecks.

The Battle of Blair Mountain was the largest organized armed uprising in American labor history and led almost directly to the labor laws currently in effect in the United States of America. For nearly a week in late August and early September 1921, in Logan County, West Virginia, between 10,000 and 15,000 coal miners confronted company-paid private detectives in an effort to unionize the southwestern West Virginia mine counties. Unionization had succeeded elsewhere as part of a demographic boom that was triggered by the extension of the railroad and was characterized by unprecedented immigrant hiring and exploitation in the region.
And the term Redneck came from the red bandanas they wore around their necks during the uprising.
