Are you like my friend that believes (with a whole heart I might add) that the McDonalds in Oxford just beats the brakes off the McDonalds in Starkville?

Those are my favorite ones. Mississippi State and Mississippi fans are from the same families, attend the same high schools, are members of the same churches and grow up in the same neighborhoods, come Saturday however, UM becomes the ruling class. That's probably why their fans that are actually from Mississippi are the least annoying and easiest to get along with, unfortunately this portion of UM fandom is getting smaller.

It's a stupid, unenforceable rule which is why it's ignored.
It immediately becomes enforceable if ringing the cowbells at the wrong time results in a 15 yard penalty. I promise you State fans would do a much better job complying... Other State fans near the a-hole(s) would ensure there is no illicit ringing.

Leave the cowbells alone. It's the only tradition they have or will ever have.

I hope they never do. It's a bad rule and there's no reason why MSU shouldn't be able to keep this tradition. The only time it's a problem is when one of them gets drunk and either throws or loses his grip on one and it hits someone. I think they could just be vigilant and throw people out when they do that and everything would be just fine. The noise is no problem. If you are bothered by noise, going to a college football game probably wasn't your best bet in the first place.

Finally... A smart LSU fan..

Can all schools use cowbells if they were so inclined?

Thank GOD that I'm not a Miss St fan; that must be the most aggravating noise for three straight hours. It doesn't work...look at their record. Horrible tradition.

Obviously it does work. Otherwise, idiots like you wouldn't complain about it..

Other schools do, so I would assume so.
