Maybe if Bama complains enough something might happen with the SEC officials.

Does LSU have a band or speakers? Don't see how that's any different.

You don't see how a school band is different than a bunch of independent (and drunk) fans all holding cowbells? The band director knows when to stop playing. Billy Joe dgaf about the rules.

Really good, it's gotten a ton better. Don't think we were fined a single time last year. I'm impressed that our fans have embraced it like they have.

I agree. I thought it would never work, but it has been pretty good lately.

Was at Moo St last year. They made an announcement to the Moo crowd about them before kickoff. They were loud but when we were on offense they kept them pretty quiet.

Not that it mattered... if you got'em... ring em.

The amendment ...will now allow "the use of ... traditional institutional noisemakers at any time, except from the time the offensive center is over the football until the play is whistled dead"

how in the hell can you enforce that?

"I know State fans ring cowbells during games, and that they ring them whenever something good happens for them and something bad happens for my team making me twice as pissed, here let me buy a ticket to a game in their home stadium." -opposing SEC fans

"CLANGA"-state fans

"REMOVE THESE FROM YOUR STADIUM AT ONCE, WE PLAY ONE GAME HERE EVERY TWO-SIX YEARS, DAMMIT!!!"- opposing SEC fans

'm not arguing they shouldn't be allowed (though I believe they should not). I'm arguing that fans would do a better job of abiding by the rules if the team actually suffered by violations.

We have been fined for violations before. We actually did a good job of abiding by the rules last year. I expect a fine from this weekend and for the fans to do a better job the rest of the season.

I hope they never do. It's a bad rule and there's no reason why MSU shouldn't be able to keep this tradition. The only time it's a problem is when one of them gets drunk and either throws or loses his grip on one and it hits someone. I think they could just be vigilant and throw people out when they do that and everything would be just fine. The noise is no problem. If you are bothered by noise, going to a college football game probably wasn't your best bet in the first place.

Finally, some truth spoken from someone who has been to Starkville lately. The rest of you are just bitching out of habit. The transition from bell to yell is actually quite impressive when the center gets over the ball.
