Ok. Name an acceptable racist insult to throw at someone at a sporting event? I'm curious.

I had press passes to take photos on the sideline during a Baylor/A&M game several years back in Waco. The shite those Baylor fans were yelling down at our sideline was some of the worst stuff I've ever heard. It went on & on & on. Finally, late in the 2nd quarter, some stupid kid yells down at one of our players, "HEY, Dante! YOUR MOTHER SUCKS MY BIG WHITE COCK."

That did it.

Dante Hall went over the wall and into the filthy student section--in a rage (think that Bama fan/woman last season, but in full pads, a helmet, and white hot rage). The coaches tried to pull him off of the bigots, but struggled to do so. Finally, the biggest, baddest, blackest Texas State Trooper you've ever seen grabs Dante by his collar, lifts him out of the crowd, and sets him on the ground.

The trooper silently turned to the fans and raised his finger to them, before saying slowly and quietly: "I've heard every word of filth you've hurled down on that team and especially to the black players. I don't want yo hear one single word from any of you the rest of the game, or I'll come up there and beat your white asses myself."

Silence.

No more troubles the rest of the game.

I'm sure Dante has insulted someone in his life like that. Called them something really really offensive and then didnt understand why the other person was angry. Classic cognitive dissonance.

No clue.
Just know what I saw--and it was a bad scene.
Made me wonder what kind of other shitty crap our black players have to hear from ignorant and racist fans.

Loaded question. Say i call a call a black UGA player (i mean, who likes UGA anyway?) a cock mongrel. That's racist/homophobe right? I mean, i implied he's a mongrel (racist) who smokes cock (homophobe). But i'd be just as quick to call a white player the same thing. Would people like you even notice or care? I think not.

Not really. Two wrongs don't make a right. And let's be real: calling a straight white male a 'cracker' or a 'breeder' just isn't the same thing. One day, when we're more equal as a society, it will be the same. However, right now a largely straight white male crowd and/or straight crowd throwing slurs at women and other minorities just isn't the same. It's not even the same for Evangelical/Protestant Christians to throw insults/jabs at religious minorities like Jews, Catholics (in some places), Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims.

Again one day it will be but it it isn't yet.

That's the point of racism that sucks. If someone calls a white kid a honkey or cracker, you don't hear about it on the 6:00 news. I have made this comment several times and the typical response is your people were not slaves or treated the way black people were to which I reply every single race at one point or another were enslaved and treated poorly. It is not our fault that they were last and honestly in my age group we have never treated black people the way they were in the 50's and 60's.
As long as people are sensitive of race, color or nationality there will always be some form of racism

I've noticed that I am more reserved towards black outfielders than white ones. For example, with white guys I often make jokes about his family being poor or his dad not being around, but I won't make those same jokes with black players because I don't feel comfortable doing it.

It's annoying

Of course not. Thank you for proving my point. It's ok for minorities to be racist because they're minorities. Ridiculous.

I wouldn't be worried about saying something about a person's family being poor but I am more cautious about what I say when it's someone who isn't white.

I didn't say it made anything wrong or right. It's a contradiction regardless of how I feel about it.

It's not the same now? They're both insulting. Are you telling me how to take a slur? Do I not have the right to complain because I'm WASP? That's reverse racism

I never thought of the word Mongrel as being racist.
That's interesting. Learn something every day.
I think ultimately it's all about intent.
People know exactly what they're trying to say/imply when they heckle.

"Dude, did they have to find you kids' pants?" is much different than chants of "Taco ... Bender ... Taco ... Bender."

Like I said earlier the fighting Irish is a ridiculous stereotype but I'd be laughed out of the country for suggesting a name change
