my dad was a pilot, often in the military. after retiring with 10 years, he lived with us on Long Island.

he was drafted for Korea. I moved all the time, after that.
One of my stops was a base at Lake Charles, when I was a junior in high school. LSU won the national championship and they showed the Heisman TD run vs Ole Miss on TV over and over. I went to my first game, the next season. When I was at La Tech, the guys in my dorm listened to the LSU game on the radio while they pretended to do their homework and that was on campus at La Tech.

I transferred to UK. The hoops was magnificent there. #1 in the nation and fun to watch. Dampier, Conley, Kron and Riley were there.

Thus I am an LSU fan for football and UK for basketball.

Later I went to Murray for my senior year. So I am also a Murray fan. They are nearly always pretty good in hoops. Prohm appears to have been a good choice.
We shall see how he does with his recruiting. He has two 3 stars and two two stars coming in. They signed before the 30-1 season.
Maybe it will translate to a couple of 4 stars in the future.

That's funny because when Murray was still in the tourney you referred to them as (and I quote) "my team". Now suddenly, they're the third wheel.

eta: I just realized you've never actually claimed to be a UK fan until now, just that you've mentioned in passing that you did attend for awhile. Again, these are some funny coincidences.

At birth. Mom and her dad went to Auburn. He played baseball* and roomed with Shug Jordan and stayed good friends with him until they died. My mom always tells me about how they used to go to Auburn and hang out in "coach Shug's" office. My aunt(mom's sister) and a couple extended family members went there too.

*no idea if the record still stands, but he had a record for a long time. He only made 2 errors at 2nd base his sr year. Had a chance to play for the Yankees minor leagues, but turned it down to stay at home with his family.

I was born in 84 in Jacksonville and really got into college football when I was 7.
Most of my entire family on both sides is from east TN. Good times always beating UT up back in the 90's.

Busey,
you are a careless scientist. I dont expect you to have read all my posts, but I assure you I have regaled people at great length about my preference while at UK to go to the basketball games,
which was two blocks from my pathetic dark hole of an apartment as opposed to going to the law library.

Got to go. dont make shite up about people.

First Bama Auburn Game I went to was 1968.

Fell in love with LSU when my best friend's dad took us to LSU in 1969 to Auburn Game

When Alabama lost to Penn State in 1983. The refs cheated Alabama ruling the tight end or wide receiver out. The funny thing about it, I was some what of an Alabama but not really a full fledged Alabama fan being I just moved from Germany an didn't really know the magnitude of college football. I was also pulling for Penn State because they were the underdog and to be different in the room. Here is the play
LINK

Bama was cheated. I knew in my heart it was time to stop messing around and Roll Tide all the way.

You sound like most folks from Alabama. You get spit out of the womb and are baptized either for Auburn or Alabama.

I can't pinpoint it because it's been for life. I went to my first game at 3 years old and went to a home game or 2 every year for the next several years. When I turned 7, I started going to every home game and only missed 5 of them over the next 19 years (to the present day). I've just always been a Georgia fan, it's all I've ever known.

I don't when, but I do remember that LSU was good in the 80's(born around new years of 81). Then I remember hoping for a bad bowl. The first game I remember seeing was the 94 Arkansas game. No parents turned the TV on, I watched it by myself start to finish even knowing it was an interim coach. May not of been a great coach but I like Dinardo. He got us to the Saban/Miles era

Were you at the UF game there in Athens in 95?

Moved to Georgia when I was 6 but I didn't become a fan of college football until 2004. I picked UGA because I really like David Greene and Pollack.

It's a shame injuries ruined his NFL chances. He would've been a multiple Pro Bowler imo.

Basically born into it... Mom played basketball for Bama (76-79) and i graduated from Bama in 11. Dad is from Australia, so no real college fandom on his side
