About midway of Mom's first trimester, I realized that I was all Bama.
I read "trimester" as "semester".

lived in Nashville since I was a kid. started to get into UT football in the early~mid 90's when UT was good.
end up going to UT in 1998 because it was the best in-state school. in-state tuition for the win. great fun, not a top-tier but good education, great value. didn't have the money to go to a private university or out-of-state schools.
my very first UT game was 1998 UT vs. Florida at home. been hooked ever since.
when I went to UT (1998-2004) we were 4-3 against UF, 6-1 against Alabama.

Pretty much the moment of conception. That should cover 85% of Hog fans.

Why? Because you're all in the same family tree?

It's not a tree if there's no branches.

When I lived in Vidalia, LA in the early 70's, my dad used to drive us all down to a couple of games a year.
I was very excited the first time I went because I remembered my dad going with coworkers and/or my mom's dad and them not getting home until 1 or 2 a.m. They always talked about the experience of Saturday Night in Tiger Stadium as if it were a religious one. Every time they came in they were loud enough to wake us up.
It was everything I had dreamed it would be and more. The game itself, the smell of bourbon, the men passing out party poppers for the Star Spangled Banner (yea, we were in that endzone), saying "Geaux Tigers" after 1st downs, bowing down in what would later look like "we're not worthy" when the band played the Chinese Bandits music, and spelling out T, I, G, E, R, S! after TD's was almost more than I could handle. I was hooked.

Freshman year. I already knew three of the players from high school and had a class with several others. Kind of a Bama fan before that, for no particular reason.

Mom graduated from the University of Michigan in '83. Dad graduated from Texas A&M University in '83. Grew up cheering for the maize and blue and the maroon and white. Was pretty much told I could go anywhere for my education but texas and ohio (tongue in cheek, of course, but not really )
Loved the traditions of both schools, but eventually chose A&M to stay closer to home (and stay out of the cold white north ). Damn proud to be class of 2010 (with a little brother who's set to graduate in 2014). Wife is Texas Aggie class of 2011.
TAMU is a family thing now, I guess! Congrats on your upcoming graduation by the way, RollTide1987. Something to be proud of and thankful for, regardless of the name of the institution on the diploma

Was born a Wildcat BB fan. Listened to Caywood Ledford on AM radio back when Rupp was still coaching and Dan Issel was the big cheese...
Moved to Baton Rouge to go to work in 1982 and did not miss an LSU home game for 2-3 yrs. First big game I remember was LSU playing Fla State the last game of the season for rights to go to the Orange Bowl. By the end of the game the north end zone was covered with oranges. LSU won.
Unfortunately my most vivid memory was watching Willie Gault (Tenn)return the second half kickoff back straight up the middle and kicked in the afterburners. My god I have never seen anyone that fast. It looked like he was striding 10 yds at a time. LSU and UT tied 20-20.

One Saturday as a 8 year old, I went to an LSU vs. State game. I asked my dad why the LSU fans were making fun of us for being State fans....He said, "Because there douche bags".....State fan ever since.

I didn't become an "exclusive" fan of any school until high school.
Grew up in Columbus GA and, back in the day (before UGA won a MNC in 1980) the city was an eclectice mix of Auburn fans, UGA fans, and (to a bit of a lesser extent) Bama fans, and (to an even lesser extent) GA Tech fans.
I was the first member of my family to ever even GO to college, so I had no hard and fast loyalties. My grandfather and my uncle worshipped at the Altar of Da Mighty Bear Bryant. Hell, my granddad had a framed picture of him in his dining room.
But, in my high school years, my favorite subjects were math and the sciences and, of those of my friends that did go to college, the majority went to AU.
So at that point I developed an affinity for AU.
Then, when I applied to colleges, I got accepted to AU, UGA, , GA Tech, Notre Dame, Vassar (which are the five I applied to).
Since my friends were there and I really loved the school and campus, Auburn was the easy choice.
It was also the right choice.

It was my 7th birthday and I watched LSU beat #1 UF. The fans tore the goalposts. It was nuts. I was hooked.
