LSU needed to clean house and bring in an entirely new culture to the locker room. I like LSU football and am not being negative but I think this was a huge mistake. I would have never filed Miles if I didn't have my guy already in place. Coach O may prove me wrong but I am hesitant to think things will change. He has to at least change the OC and make a major change in philosophy on that side of the ball. The defense looked great most of the year.

No, I base my opinion on the fact that he is a former cokehead and a likely woman beater. Rumlin is a saint compared to Coach O.

I don't like him as a person and there is nothing in his three ring binder that will change my mind.

This is where a coach like Jim Harbaugh just is worth every dime Michigan has paid him. How the frick does he just turn a program that was dead into a power in 2 years. He may be an arse but him, myer, and saban are worth every cent they are paid.

Exactly CBP......it was an excellent decision based on the situation. Anyone who says otherwise isn't reasonable.

GREAT coaches don't suddenly appear in their 50s and start winning National Championships. If Orgeron was a GREAT coach he would have already succeeded. He's a position coach and recruiter who got lucky in his home state. The "Perfect Storm" got him the LSU job but he'll go down the Gerry DiNardo-Curley Hallman LSU coaching road. He's not a GREAT coach - he doesn't have any of the skills required to run an elite college football team. IMO he's now the worst head coach in the SEC. As an Alabama fan I hope he stays at LSU for 20 years but I won't get that lucky. After he loses a couple of dozen games he'll get fired and then maybe - finally - LSU will conduct a proper search and pay the money to get an elite coach

I agree with you, but not in this day of age. You have to have talent to compete. No way around it. Name one coach in the top 10 that has inferior talent. I can name one. (Colorado)

At the highest level yeah.

But talent alone doesn't guarantee you'll compete

If Orgeron is totally incompetent and the team is totally dysfunctional they could go like 4-8. Even with all that talent. It is possible is all I'm saying

So basically your point makes zero sense. Why clean house of all the great coaches you have on Def. You have one glaring issue. Hire somebody to fix the offense. You were never getting Herman or Fisher. Why blow up everything for another second tier coach.

Then go be a fan of another school. Very simple you have a choice, get behind the guy or don't.

Just because we have no evidence of him beating women since the early 90s doesn't mean he is a great guy now. That is like getting sexual with children, you are a shithead for life.

I agree but LSU wasn't getting somebody like that this year.

Oh give me a fricking break man. You have no clue how it's going to turn out. If Etling hit a couple of throws to extend drives that Bama game might have a different outcome. Then that guy would have been 1-0 against your Tide.

You're absolutely right. But I doubt that will happen. I go back to your comparison of Texas. Strong made like 10 coaching fires/hires during his tenure. No stability. At least LSU has Aranda, and assuming Coach gets a good OC then LSU should be in better shape than Texas. ( Strong era)

Exactly. Look at USC ( Helton top 10) and Clemson. Even Tennessee with Fulmer ( think he was promoted). Maybe LSU can make it work too.
