As much I like poke fun at delusional LSU ranters on here, they have a great foundation in Baton Rouge. Once things settle down from all the bs trolls from other fan bases and negatigers on here, people will realize LSU's situation is far from dire. While Coach O was not the first choice he love that university and will battle. Looking at other programs situations in Sec, should their fans really be laughing at LSU. I think what gets (LSU) them into trouble is looking at Alabama success and trying to compare or match it, instead of letting the chips fall into place and being the best version of LSU you can be. Anyway good luck to you guys see you in November.

Truth is LSU is the only SEC school that hasn't accepted its fate and is still fighting like hell to compete with Alabama.

They should be respected for it, but all they do is get picked on.

O will continue to fight the good fight.

3rd best program in the SEC behind Alabama and Florida.

Not saying Orgeron can't be the guy to do it, but LSU is one good head coach away from going on a similar streak Bama has the last 8 years.

When you look at LSU coaches over the last 40 years, CEO is closer to the norm than Saban. Saban was the exception to the rule.

They're about what they have always been except for aabout a decade or so starting at the turn of the century.

Replace this statement with "Ole Miss" instead of LSU. Do you agree with it still?

I agree totally. You have a great University and great tradition. I really think Coach O is a great hire. He is your guy, roll up your sleeves, tighten your belt and get to work.

Two years in a row they've botched their head coaching position. It will cost them big time next year.

Still they have enough talent to ruin other team's seasosns.

UT's fans haven't accepted our fate. Our athletic dept. seemingly has though.

Good program. Solid program. Not a blue blood. Not an elite program.

Auburn-ish.

Depends on the coordinators he has. He's looks to be a great motivator, and that is a huge part of coaching. Solid recruiter

Other fan bases will laugh for now but, time will tell

Dabo Swinney has a big middle finger pointed to all the haters right now

I think LSU will be just fine, that defense combined with a spread offense (think thats what he wants to run) will be very good

USC was close to it with Pete Carrol, Florida won 2 titles in 4 years along with a Heisman under Meyer from 2006-2008, Nebraska in the 90's, Miami in the 80's and early 2000's.

It's not that uncommon.

I love the positive / loving energy Coach O has and I think LSU made the right hire because he is the right fit there and Herman is the right fit at Texas. I think it worked out at both schools.

With regards to Alabama, LSU fans just need to be patient. They've built a dynasty that we haven't seen since the Bear and just like back then, it will one day end. I'm not saying that to upset Bama fans or incite an argument, but ALL good things-even great dynasties-end. I thought LSU baseball would keep dominating the 2000's the way they did the 90's but Skip retired and 16 years later they've got only 1 more trophy.

Saban is tGOAT, there's no question about it, but he can't coach forever, and there's NO WAY someone just steps in and fills those shoes without a few bumps. LSU just needs to stay competitive, keep winning 9 or 10 games a year, always at least stay in the conversation, and keep taking Bama to the 4th quarter. Before long I think you'll see the Tigers steal one or 2 of those games.

Until then, live it up, Bammers. What a special time it is for y'all.

LSU administration is a shitshow and this hire proves it. Their AD had 2 months to fill the head coaching position and what does he do? When the time comes he runs away from a fight with Texas for one of their top targets and then stumbles across the hall and hires the first buffoon he comes across.

LSU will get what they deserve. Better take a long look at Tennessee because LSU will become as irrelevant as they are.

Second best program in the SEC, but the gap between 1 and 2 is getting wider by the year. Honestly, the gap won't close until Saban retires.

LSU has remained consistently good for 15 years now (no worse than 8-5), while Auburn, UF, Tenn, Ole Miss, etc have all had losing seasons in the past five years. Georgia has been consistently good as well, but their peak years are below LSU's. The LSU brand is a bigger deal nationally than any SEC program other than Alabama too. A lot of that is due to Miles and our stud NFL guys
