USC was close to it with Pete Carrol, Florida won 2 titles in 4 years along with a Heisman under Meyer from 2006-2008, Nebraska in the 90's, Miami in the 80's and early 2000's.

It's not that uncommon.

None of those were close to Saban at Bama. He's closing in on 5 national titles in 10 years. Get fricking real

Yep,pre Saban lsu was an afterthought, now the question is do they return to that era or continue on the Miles plain of wins...

You already have your answer.

We gave up the good fight Saturday and are not committed to winning.

We hired a d line coach with a binder to run the program.

We let a blue blood cuck our AD at the bargaining table

How can you post this after what transpired Saturday?

It seemed clear to me that what transpired Saturday heavily weighted the opportunity to get the offensive coordinator from Alabama.

I'm assuming the West will roll through Bama or Auburn in the foreseeable future.

Maybe A & M steps it up. A & M needs to spend some money on a coach after the shite load they spent on the stadium. They seem like they want to win over there.

It was a good hire....We couldn't get fisher or Herman, our top two....instead of going after a coach we didn't really want, we hire O.....at worst he's miles and he's gone in 2-3 years.....but he keeps the team stoked with good talent....and we're in position to hire the best coach available when there's a guy we love cause we haven't spent our treasure chest.......at best he winds up like Dabo....an absolute diamond in the rough..... an older guy who's learned from his mistakes and is an awesome head coach. Hiring the right coaches and recruiting the right players....being the face of the program. I'm optimistic, but obviously I'm biased.

I know that no one will believe this, but as a Bama fan it was kinda sad. Good, but sad. We had a program that pushed us to be better and now, well, it appears as though they have followed the rest of the SEC and thrown in the towel until Saban is gone.

I may be wrong and CEO might be a great hire, but nothing in his past leads me to believe that he will.

Good luck tho. Srs.

Truth is LSU is the only SEC school that hasn't accepted its fate and is still fighting like hell to compete with Alabama.

Their coaching "search" and hire would seem to betray this sentiment. I refuse to believe that O was the best they could do with all of the time and resources they had.

No college coach on this planet is as good as nick Saban.....none.....he proved this several years ago. When he finally retires, bama will be in for a rude awakening.....it's not bama that's so good....it's Saban .....there are very few coaches who are this good in a lifetime....once he's gone you will spend countess amounts of money looking for the next guy.....what I respect about bama is that they will do this...they will hire and fire more coaches then any other program looking for the next bear/saban....

We have a terrible AD man. He is a clown.

He's not willing to do what it takes to win.

I wonder what Saban thought. Probably the same, happy as hell but thinking, " I can't believe these frickers quit. Unbelievable."

Herman was never coming here. Why can't LSU people figure it out. He was playing the game. All his agent was doing to do was maximizing money from Texas. So, what if they had two months. Name somebody outside of Herman and Fisher LSU would realistically want and could have? And don't say Fedora or MacIntyre or Gundy are all better options. They aren't even close. Get on the O train or get the frick off and be a fan of a different school. Tired of all the bitching. You sound like a snowflake. I bet you take Monday off because your sooo distraught.

I fricking hate seeing all the success that bama has had but no one can argue that Saban has built a dynasty. Just plug and replace. Unfortunately for us we happen to be in the same conference and in the same division. If we were in the East this would have been epic SEC championships for the last decade.
