You think Alabama was the only school paying players? Also they have the #1 ranked class for 2023. Their recruiting hasn’t fallen off like you are saying.

They have no loyalty to Bama. If they don’t get starts and a lot of playing time they are outta there. They also aren’t getting coached up like in previous years. Saban has all but checked out.

That's one problem of many. Their OL, WR, CBs, etc. are not performing like the teams of past either. And Saban turns 72 this October.

Defenses being behind offenses and his lack of good coaching/development on that side of the ball is when the dynasty began to show chinks. His defenses are the reason for the decline. They can't cover(the asses) average, game managers(Milroe) anymore. They couldn't carry Bryce Young.

Recruiting rankings are shite and recruiting "gurus" are frauds. They base their player ratings largely on who is recruiting the player.

frick non-saint Little Nicky gets his due but he's not the GOAT.
#1 or 2 classes every year and still raids the portal for the top WR, OT, RB, LB, etc. for top talent. He should win the title at least every other year.
