You are missing a lot. It’s a great city.

Let me guess you've either lived in Baton Rouge or New Orleans and have never left outside of those cities.

Even if you live anywhere else in Louisiana you still have to pay higher insurance premiums to subsidize the lawsuit mill industry that the Louisiana government has created.

Yep, God got smarter. He's using illegals to wipe out Texas.

"Illegals" are generally hard working people that contribute to GDP and employment growth.

Louisiana on the other hand, nothing more than a swampy welfare state.

My guess is that the constant hurricane and tropical storms are to blame for high property insurance rates. Don’t know about these other government caused issues.

Mississippi eradicated the Democratic Party. There are no meaningful statewide offices occupied by the Democrats and the GOP has a majority in both house and senate.

Since this happened, Mississippi has gone from 49th to 21st in education, has the lowest unemployment in history, has raised teacher pay from lowest in the nation to above the national average, and is working to eliminate personal income tax, all while maintaining the fifth highest surplus of any state. They have attracted investment from high tech industries, including a $2.5 billion steel plant outside Starkville that will employ 1000 people at at average of $90,000. Oh, and we led the nation in getting rid of abortion.

Louisiana elected a moderate democrat governor and is stuck in the mud.

Mississippi is also in the Top 5 of states most dependent on federal subsidies. In the SEC footprint, Florida and Tennessee are the least dependent.

I wish they would vet some of these “illegals” and send them to Georgia. Georgia needs workers.

There's a long list of people that don't want to hear the truth about this.

We could end this overnight. This sucks.

Just got back from driving to 30A.

Off the freeway Bama is locked in a time capsule of Pepsi and Meth.

Bama outside of a few areas is a shot hole. You #1 export is racism and poverty.

God help that state.

I don't think we have any "shiteholes" to be honest. It just depends on what you like. I can visit the Florida Gulf coast and have a great time or visit the Ozarks and have a great time.

I guess the one place in the SEC footprint I really don't care for would be the Miami area.

Not a shithole at all. Just topographically duullll.

Parts of OK are beautiful. Big elevation changes and hardwoods, some areas 180-200” deer

How many of those dollars go to breeders and takers, and how many go to keep farms afloat?

Important to differentiate.

Sadly, the most impoverished area of Appalachia is actually Eastern Kentucky. A shame, because it's geographically the most beautiful part of the statem, perhaps outside of our horse farms here in Central KY.

Lexington is beautiful and we love our trips there. Just wish Keeneland races were still going on when Georgia comes to UK. Dang the scheduling changes. Those were fun days

All of West Virginia is in the Appalachians so yeah, they are a poor state especially with the crack down on coal.

Our redeeming quality is here in Lexington, Louisville, Cincinnati metro area, and all the farmland in Western Kentucky. So we've got more driving our economy than just coal. But as far as where the worst of the mountain poverty is, Eastern Kentucky is rough man.

In my mind, with the exception of Florida and Tennessee, it’s all of them. Florida gets exempt for obvious reasons. All the wealthy blue bloods have moved there transforming it into a polished culture. But surprise! Tennessee has left you double-wide dwelling, Walmart shoppers behind. It is home to one of the best academic Universities in the country. Home to 5 metro areas (Chattanooga, Memphis, Knoxville, Nashville and Tri-Cities) providing good jobs, entertainment, financial and medical resources. Federal Express, Auto Zone, HCA, HGTV, several auto manufacturers, and IT firms call Tennessee home. Did I mention our gorgeous mountains, rivers and lakes? Walmart may be expanding in your State, but Nordstroms are coming here! Lol

Bro, we have enough of them moving here already. Chattanooga has almost been ruined. Nashville is overcrowded. We're awesome but tell them we're a shithole so they'll go back home.

And we're dumb enough to elect Mississippians as US Senators. We're full of bad politics.
