outside cities, most of this country is much the same. Mississippi probably has more of these areas than anywhere in the SEC footprint

Louisiana has actually stolen our title in recent years. We're working hard to get it back.

Mississippi might be the biggest shithole in north America, including Chihuahua.

But Louisiana is a different kind of shithole - god tried himself to wipe the stink out of there and was not successful. We should give it back to the French but no chance they'd take it unfortunately.

Mississippi moved up to 21st in education and has added a bunch of high tech jobs over the past decade. The Mississippi Miracle, if you will. If you haven't been paying attention, the gains in Mississippi have been tremendous.

Lack of cities is what hurts Mississippi. Jackson is the only city in the state and it is a shithole. However, the suburbs of Jackson are as nice as anywhere else in the SEC footprint.

Louisiana has taken Mississippi's spot at the bottom of the "bad" ratings, but food and culture are great.

If you were going to throw a dart and have to live where it hit, I'd aim away from Uniontown, Alabama and the surrounding area.

I would rather live anywhere in Louisiana or Mississippi than Atlanta, Nashville, Dallas or Houston.

But that's just me

Mississippi passed up Louisiana. They decided to better themselves. Louisiana isn’t doing that, people are just leaving. Not worth pissing in the wind of dumbass local politicians and the DGAF attitude that permeates so many facets of life there.

I love Atlanta. Guess you haven’t visited the city very much. Or you are hanging out in areas most of us chose to avoid

people are going to say Mississippi, but its actually Louisiana.

49% of louisiana is below sea level (bayou, swamp, mosquitos, catastrophic flooding). its big cities are slightly better than those in Mississippi, but they are largely crapholes that people complain about incessantly. the fact that so many retirees move from LA to MS is telling. If Jackson didnt exist, Mississippi would be viewed far more positively, but it does and is a major black eye for the state.

Louisiana does get a cultural nod over Mississippi, but of all the places in the south, the one place I wouldnt leave mississippi for is louisiana. just my opinion.

You forgot to mention that Tennessee is also home to a bunch of inbred, banjo-playing, toothless, man-raping retards. And that's just the people that live in the cities. Imagine what lives up there in those mountains!
Oh and uh, they, like Florida, have crappy football teams.

Go Dawgs...in the words of Willie and Ray, "Georgia's on my mind!"

Mississippi eradicated the Democratic Party. There are no meaningful statewide offices occupied by the Democrats and the GOP has a majority in both house and senate.

Since this happened, Mississippi has gone from 49th to 21st in education, has the lowest unemployment in history, has raised teacher pay from lowest in the nation to above the national average, and is working to eliminate personal income tax, all while maintaining the fifth highest surplus of any state. They have attracted investment from high tech industries, including a $2.5 billion steel plant outside Starkville that will employ 1000 people at at average of $90,000. Oh, and we led the nation in getting rid of abortion.

Louisiana elected a moderate democrat governor and is stuck in the mud.

Let me guess you've either lived in Baton Rouge or New Orleans and have never left outside of those cities.

We should give Texas back to Mexico, but they basically have it already so what's the point.
