Exactly. Ole miss has more recruiting advantages than MU because of the state and their general location in the south. They are also tflagship in Mississippi

Uh... Texas was cited for MORE violations in the 80's than A&M was. Also, 7 conf titles in that 10 yr stretch is pretty solid.
Series us skewed due ti 3 wins after WWII from 45-74
Also.. A&M holds the edge once scholly reductions came into existence... 74 or so

Being the last true football factory left in the US, Bama has at least three major advantages:

1. unlimited budget, everything Bama football related is gold plated and over the top to appease the football zealots

2. whoever the head coach is at Bama runs the program without any interference from university administrators (the only exception is if Bama loses to Auburn or if there are serious undeniable NCAA infractions)

3. Bama football runs its own admissions department separate from the university, for instance Bama lets high school and junior college grades of D transfer for admittance

Well these are only three but you should be smart enough to know that Bama football in the only "thing" that matters at this particular school.

A&M has #1, but none of those other advantages of Bama.

Hiring the new AD that has experience at LSU is already paying dividends. The investment in the track and field program is going to pay dividends across the entire athletic program within a year two.

If successful the Bama HC IS the university and the most powerful person on that campus and the state.

Always good to know the University and state have their priorities straight.
