I know you're trolling. You can't help yourself. However, I'll bite.
Can't really predict a specific record because of too many unproven variables, so I'll go position by position.
Quarterback - Improvement from 2015. Since Johnny Manziel left, there hasn't been an A&M quarterback that can control and guide the team. Kenny Hill couldn't complete a pass beyond 15 yards, Kyle Allen couldn't avert his gaze from his target receiver nor did it seem could he distinguish different colored uniforms, and Kyler Murray was just an all around piece of shite. What the A&M offense needs to succeed is a quarterback whose sole job is to get the ball to the actual playmakers (running back and receiver) rather than be the focus of the offense. Knight can do that. Still remains to be seen if he will successfully.
Running Back - Improvement from 2016. This is the deepest running back unit A&M has had since 2011 (Cyrus Gray, Christine Michael, Ben Malena). It has just the right mix of power (Ford, White) and speed (Bussey, Williams, Boyd). While Ford will start, expect the bulk (90%+) of rushing attempts to come from the running backs for a change.
Wide Receiver/Tight End - The talent is there. It remains to be seen whether or not the HANDS improve. The receivers' hands outside of one primary target ever since Mike Evans left tend to be infected with stone. I don't know why we even use the words "Tight End" as we haven't used one since Martellus Bennett and even he wasn't used properly.
Offensive Line - Coaching will be a MASSIVE improvement from 2012-2015. I can't overstate the impact of Jim Turner. He was directly responsible for Luke Joeckel, Jake Matthews, Patrick Lewis, Cedric Ogbuehi, Jarvis Harrison, and recruited Germain Ifedi before Sherman was fired. B.J. Anderson was a lousy coach but an excellent recruiter. He was replaced by a lousy coach and an even worse recruiter (Christiansen)

Defensive Line - This is probably the most talented defensive line A&M has fielded since the 90's. Close to 3 deep for the first time in a long time.
Linebackers - Talented, but unproven. Shaan Washington and Otaro Alaka are probably the most experienced.
Defensive Backs - Safeties are solid. Cornerbacks are somewhat unproven, but at least we don't have to watch Devante Harris play 2-hand touch instead of tackling anymore.
Special Teams will definitely be worse this year. Although Taylor Bertolet was incredibly frustrating to watch, he was consistent. LaCamera is unknown. Drew Kaser broke Shane Lechler's average for career net punting average and is now starting for the Chargers. Not sure if Tripucka or Mann can measure up.

He has a lot of potential, but currently a little salty in the "Hire a red hot unproven AAC coach and see what happens" train, and if were shopping, Sumlin was obviously an official bust. I'd be pissed if someone else hired him, and worried if we did
Again depending on how we lost the three games, I could be happy, but that definitely still leaves us in a pickle

Idk how you'd gather I am trolling. I honestly believed TAMU would be further along by year 5. I don't think the program is bottom tier or anything, but I did think that y'all would have won the conference by now given the talent rich state and resources.
I appreciate the in depth feedback. I am very curious how the aggy running game will look and think that is the key to y'all beating LSU. We return a ton of future NFL DBs including a couple of first rounders, IMO.

I wanted either Jimbo or Herman. Those were my 2 guys if Miles were fired. If not them 2, I wanted Miles to stay. I think Herman is a hell of a coach.

It will have more to do with the offensive line than anything else. Tra Carson did an amazing job considering that his speed was 4.7 and he was often hit before reaching the line after receiving the handoff.
Running Back measurables:
Keith Ford - 5'11, 215 (RS-Junior)
James White - 6'0, 215 (RS-Junior)
Kendall Bussey - 5'9, 200 (RS-Freshman)
Trayveon Williams - 5'9, 190 (Freshman-Early Enrollee)
Rakeem Boyd - 5'11, 198 (Freshman)
No real "bruiser" on the roster.

what does that even mean?
"If you want to stay close to mama but play games against the big boy teams we are your only option."
It also helps that we are the west-most SEC team. That is why we have gotten so much elite Arizona talent.

as aTm cannot out recruit other Texas teams
We out-recruit every single Texas team other than Texas every cycle since the SEC move. Baylor almost got ahead of us last NSD but we know what happened to their class.

the stadium is also weird, non uniform, and looks like like lipstick on a pig
Still the biggest in Texas. The Cotton Bowl is a dump and people still act like the RRR is a big deal.

Overrated, unless you think Minnesota is going to be a powerhouse this year just because they used to be way back when.

Ford gonna be the guy for the most part?

If we need a bruiser we could always run Josh Walker, Tyrell Dodson, or Dalen Mac. They all played running back in high school. But it's only typically brand defense of player deliver he'll be defensive player in the pack today are . if we need a bruiser we could always run Josh Walker, Tyrell Dodson, or Daylon Mack. They all played running back in high school. Mazzone typically had offensive packages for defensive players at UCLA. You can also run a "wildcat" package with RSJ.

He won't be the feature back.
Expect the carries to be fairly evenly split between Ford, White, and Bussey until one of them pulls away from the others.

To start the season, that's what I'd guess. Williams/Bussey are supposedly good with swing passes/in space and have an extra gear, so they'll likely get mixed in as well.

You were most certainly in the minority, then. Even among Aggie fans. Most folks assumed coming in that we'd take our lumps the first few years before we grew acclimated enough to hopefully contend year in/out. Even with our resources, it was a massive step up in competition and a complete change in the style of football that would win long term.
The Manziel era skewed perspectives/expectations (my own included) for awhile, but it was always going to take us time to get on a new level, under reasonable circumstances.

That will be a measuring stick game for us for so many reasons. If we can't get better in the trenches, it'll be a rerun of the past few years, IMO.
Like was said earlier itt regarding A&M/Arkansas: until something changesin how we approach that game, the same result will occur.

Yeah but that only works if they fire Strong. Some big Texas boosters had Saban ready to jump but Mack didn't want to quit.

Bama fans heads will spin when Saban writes a tell all book after he retires and the truth comes out.
Unless Charlie has a breakout year, he's gone. Texas brass was not happy with the hire and cannot wait for him to be fired.

Whoa, wait. Did you think this when we FIRST came in or after the first season with Johnny? Because A&M fans almost unanimously assumed coming in that we'd have losing seasons for a couple of years and then in 5 years winning 8 or 9 would be a giant triumph.

Strong just has to have a decent year. He can lose to OU and ND and avoid embarrassing losses, and he will get another year.
If the QB position is a fiasco, that's another story.
A "breakout" for Strong is just some progress, since he showed some in recruiting this last year.
