The Mazzone hire will make or break Sumlin

Not an Aggy fan, but I expect this to be the best team Sumlin has put on the field as HC. Playmakers on both sides of the ball, proven coordinators, put up or shut up time. I think they win 8-9 games.

Moving forward, it is hard to say. They need Sumlin to sober up or to let him go. I think Sumlin, when he has his shite together, is a pretty good coach. Just seems like the pressure of what early success brought him at A&M caused him to spiral out of control.

Expectations are going to be higher for this year. Despite what you may think, A&M has a talented team this year for the most part

Aggy is looking at 6 wins. That's pretty much the ceiling for that program now.

I could see 4 wins this year realistically. They are soft as shite

LSU had a failed coup to fire miles and is a top 6 team with a potential Heisman candidate

There is a major difference

Not to mention the undefeated season, SEC championship and NC appearance the year before you entered the SEC

let's not pretend TAMU has had anything to do with the recent LSU underwhelming seasons

I don't deny they are talented but I also believe the sec west is stacked

I think 3rd-4th in the west is reasonable for this year but likely below expectations in year 5

Something like this would not shock me.

UCLA-W
Prairie View-W
Auburn-W
Arkansas-L
South Cackalacky-W
Tennessee-L
Alabama-L
New Mexico State-W
Moo State-W
Ole Piss-W
UTSA-W
LSU-L

Edit to add: Unless they have learned to stop the run, these L's will be pretty hard to turn to W's IMHO.

Hugh was replying to a post about since we joined the SEC.

A&M has been the more successful football team since that point.

4 is the bottom. Sadly, you won't be able to trot out that same amount of wins as LSU stat next preseason :(

I'll give you that, for the sake of arguing..

We can revisit that exact discussion after 2016

I think TAMU is a potential dark horse and LSU could be looking for a head coach if they lose 3 games, so I think that's fair

They will win a minimum of 10 games pretty easily. Their defense will be a top 15 defense and they have their first OC since Kling. Sumlin is just Les Miles enough to let someone else coach EXCEPT he will actually allow the OC call the plays because he was exposed on how much he sucks as an OC and play caller.
Whatever it takes to win.

Our defense should be better than we've had in a while. If our oline can get mature enough and Qb play can be good I think we will beat teams that we should not beat but that's a big IF though. I see 9-3 but 11 wins is very possible. Anything less than 9 sumlin should be shown the door.

I appreciate what you're doing here

Also, after reviewing the thread texag mentioned, they don't seem to believe they have much of a shot vs bama or LSU

Interesting
