Not really. You play each game to win that game. Then you play the next one and try to win that one. Ideally, you win all of them.
But, I know for Bama fans, it's all 'bout them champeenships!

Every college football NC was determined by subjective polling of so-called "experts", either by picking the champion outright or deciding who gets to play for it.
Until you have a completely objective playoff system like the NFL, it's not really won on the field.
That includes the ones Auburn claims just as much as anyone else's

Too bad there's been a system in place since 98 that everyone agreed to play under.

I didn't agree to it, but nobody asked me.
All the BCS did was have the polls (and computers) pick #1 AND #2, instead of of just #1.
All the CFP does is let a committee pick #1-#4.
Still just as subjective as the poll system was.
The BCS and the playoff had/have nothing to do with determining who the real champion/best team is, they are all about generating publicity and TV $$$$$$$, and everyone knows it.

Shouldn't have agreed to it.

Well, just be a fan of the NFL and quit following college ball.

Read the first line of my post again. Or get someone else to read it to you.

You know all you need to know about this guy based on his chosen screen name. Anyone who picks a derogatory slang version of their rival's name to use as part of their screen name is screaming "i'm obsessed with them".
You're not gonna "win" a post point with this guy unless it is something negative about Bama. Just let him think he has things his own ignorant way.

I don't like the NFL, and haven't for a long time.
That's one reason I don't like how CFB keeps trying be a junior NFL.

using your time frame Bama won:
2 national titles (same as LSU)
3 SEC titles (same as LSU)
7 division championships (same as LSU)
Additionally, Bama went 9-9 against LSU during this stretch that was marked by such coaching icons as Mike DuBose (2-2 against LSU while also winning SEC), Denis Franchione (1-1 against LSU), and Mike Shula (0-4 against LSU...congrats, you really got the best of that clown).
So during what many will say - including you, apparently - was a horrible stretch for Bama, LSU was at best an even program to the Tide. Congrats, I guess.
Good post 13. Gotta mention one thing though.
LSU was pretty much "horrible" from 1989-1999 too (although we managed 2 of the 17 LSU victories in the OP timeline, 1993, and 1997, and we did have 3 winning seasons and bowl victories from '95-'97.)

A lot of crying about refs and threatening to leave the conference.
Oh, and sleeping.
It was nice.

Yea - we had some games when we were both pretty miserable (for our programs standards at least)
1998 : 6-3 Bama @ 4-5 LSU
2000 : 3-6 Bama @ 6-3 LSU
2001 : 5-3 LSU @ 3-5 Bama

1999 we won the sec... beat UF twice that year, we didn't even cry about them being on our schedule or a fricking rematch.
Looking back that was a nice accomplishment during that time UT/and UF were dominating the conference with UT being runner up more times than not.

We evened it out with the whole #3 to 3 wins thing in 2000.
