" the bear was the greatest coach ever" or they didn't watch much football. Living in this state was awesome. It was split 50\50 Auburn\Alabama. Now every redneck in the state screams row tyde. I work with at least 5 people who sported Auburn gear now they have too much bama in them.

The state of Alabama has never been 50/50.

that &* pass by russell to the back of the end-zone is still a cold, sharp memory from shula's 10 win season ...

This.

The state of Alabama was 65-35 in favor of Alabama for many, many years. Pat Dye's success on the Plains in the 80s created a lot of bandwagon fans whose legacy continues to this day.

Ballsy for an LSU fan to bring up the 90's.

Most of them weren't around.

From 92-09, Bama went 9-9 against LSU, won more division titles than LSU, and won the same amount of Conference and National Titles. Our Dark Times were better than your Golden Years. Kinda puts perspective on it, huh?

Maybe you meant from 93-2008?

Enjoy these moments.

1) Deuce's two point conversion to tie Tennessee in 1993
2) 1994 Georgia shootout
3) Sam Shade game ending tackle in the 1994 Iron Bowl
4) 1996 Iron Bowl comeback
5) Shaun Alexander putting up 291 yards against LSU as a freshman
6) Miracle comeback against LSU in 1998
7) Shaun Alexander's epic performance against Florida in the Swamp and the extra points fukkery in overtime
8) Annihilating Florida in the 1999 SEC Championship Game
9) 31-0 shutout of LSU in 2002 that opened Saban's eyes to the greatness of Alabama football
10) The Catch by Tyrone Prothro
11) Destroying Meyer in 2005
12) Whipping Tennessee in 2007 despite being very short-handed because of the textbook scandal

The state has never, nor will never, be split 50/50.

Serious answer.

I was dreaming of a day when Bama would figuratively drag their nuts across the face of LSU football.

Now I'm living the dream.

Seriously what was the average Bama fans spin on their program in that 17 year span?

We reminded everyone how awesome we were and how we would be again. We were right on both accounts.

I remember a lot of regret and soul searching over not hiring Bobby Bowden.
