Intense play, Fanning was definitely excited to be playing and getting a tackle. Not sure if it warrants a suspension, honestly don't think it was his intention to suplex the guy. Slive will suspend him though, just for PR.

I am old school and prefer the pre-pussy rules football, that being said in today's game he probably gets suspended.

This. That play is not that uncommon and is usually not flagged. This time it looked so bad because the dude is 6'7". Having said that - I cringed watching it and hope he gets a one game just to send a message.

If you watch the video closely, you see a second Bama player come in to assist on the tackle. That second player wrapped up under the runners legs and sent him over the top making it look a lot worse than it really was.

While this may be in bad taste and Fanning should be punished for this, I think this sends a message to all other teams in the conference.
