It's a legal tackle (i.e., there is no specific rule disallowing this kind of tackle). Actually surprised the ref threw a flag for unnecessary roughness, but that should definitely be the extent of it. It was pretty intense, but that's football. I have seen this kind of tackle multiple times before with no flag and no conversation.
I think Fanning was just overestimating the abilities of this Missouri running back. Probably didn't expect to be able to throw him around like a rag doll so easily.
With Alabama there isn't much else to talk about right now as they continue to systematically beat down the next team on the schedule, so I can understand why this is getting more attention than it probably deserves.

I agree. If the SEC doesn't do it, hope Saban will.

Does it really matter? Fanning plays when we go up by 3 touchdowns. I don't think he had malicious intent, in the heat of the moment you get a guy down by any means necessary. If he suspends him, great, if not I DGAF

Looks like a Nick Fairley move.
He should but since that AU thug never got suspended no reason to think he will.

There should be two penalties.
1. Fanning should be suspended for the Nov 10th game.
2. Sabin should be banned from wearing lifts in his shoes for the rest of the season.

Looks like he hurt his back in the process.
Looks more like his left foot. He got his toe planted in the turf and overextended when he flew back like that.
