Don't give me that shite. Find me a person that was stoked to keep Butch after losing to Vandy and SC with the east and/or the Sugar Bowl on the line.

But like I said, we were never going to fire him last season unless he went 6-6. Our admin isn't built that way, and there were too many big programs willing to sling money around, especially n light of the fact that we didn't have a University president or AD in place during the best time to evaluate coaches. Don't be an idiot.

Bama fans are spoiled at this point. I think we need 10-2 to be "ok" and SEC Championship to be happy. Need to be in playoffs to be really happy.

Once Saban retires, I honestly think we will quickly adapt to a more realistic expectation of 9+ wins annually, SEC title every couple of years, and playoffs every 3 years.

The higher ups want the fanbase to be anything but lethargic. When all you hear is "when is basketball season" it's a problem.

Best case scenario; 7-8 wins.

Worst case scenario; don't make a bowl game.

Mizzou's out of conference schedule is super easy and their is no reason they shouldn't go 4-0. Odem needs to match or do better with his team's SEC total which was 2-6.

Thats good to hear actually.

I always forget about this dudes buyout.

Long has made some good decisions since he came in. The track programs are nationally relevant again. The secondary and tertiary sports are showing signs of life. Men's basketball is finally starting to look up.

But he will live and die on the huge buyout he gave Bert when it looked like Bert was about to turn the program around.

Bert's problem is that he is lazy. He has a real tendency to coast. You can see it in the God awful starts the Hogs have gotten off under him (even when we win in the early season its usually bowling shoe ugly wins over much smaller program). When Bielema goes all out (stomping Florida after the horrible loss to Auburn for example) the Hogs play much better.

Giving a lazy, if lovable, coach a Yuuuuuge buyout doesn't really motivate said coach to do his best.

One thing I will say in Coach O's favor is that you can never say he's coasting going into a game. I wouldn't be surprised if he keeled over at any minute but the Crazy Cajun is always going a hundred miles an hour.

Oh yeah. Bert has to show some life this year or he goes into 2018 with the Sword of Damocles over his head.

VOLS fans have higher expectations than UGA, as they should.

Botch has not received an extension and is squarely on the hot seat after back to back 9 win seasons and Fulmer was fired one year removed from a 10 win season and SECCG appearance.

UGA fans meanwhile rode it out for 15 years without a MNC from Richt and nearly a decade without a championship of any kind and have now somehow convinced themselves that Kirby Smart will get it done.

See now I am torn going into this season. Do I hope for another under performance from Butch to get more gold quotes like this or do I hope y'all win so you don't wind up in the Big House for choking Butch out and urinating on him?

Hard to say. Tiger fans have been spoiled these last 17 years with Coach Saban and Coach Miles.
I would like to think CEO's performance in the last 8 games of 2016 was no fluke and he will continue to build on what Miles achieved, but with a different attitude and plan, considering he appears to have a very competent staff.
Hopefully Coach O will succeed more like he did when he was USC's Head Coach and not Ole Miss's :)
If so, I think expectations of at LEAST 9-10 wins per year should be feasible. An SEC title or at least SECCG app. every 3-4 years or less, and a trip to the playoffs every 5-6 years or less.

Doesn't know the difference between a rebuild and normal. Of course, most UGA fans would tell you that Kirby's first year was actually a rebuild on par with ours because Richt couldn't recruit despite those fantastic classes.

Post 2015: Mark Richt underachieved with all the Talent he had!

Post 2016: Kirby didn't do well cause he doesn't have the talent in place to succeed yet!

Which one is it?

Mizzou has 83 wins the last 10 years...8.3 wins per season. That is pretty reasonable expectation from fans.
