It was a rally in protest of Ole Miss, though.

The full A&M System is actually up to 131k now. It is accurate that Galveston, Qatar, and the Law and Med schools are considered part of the main campus while the others are not (Prairie View, West Texas A&M, etc.)

The main campus is also the 4th largest University in the US and almost 86% of the students are from Texas. There are some plans in place for the main campus to reach 75k in the coming years with 25k engineering students alone. The money is there to support it without a dropoff in quality as the Endowment is soon to exceed $9 Billion, 2nd among Public Universities.

It is staggering how big the numbers are getting.

I have a couple of friends who their kids already have acceptance letters to Ole Miss and Alabama.
That is how "hard" it is to get in
"Early decision" for Florida is in December. Most Texas and TAMU kids won't know until next year.

Alabama and Ole Miss are really growing in the last 5 to 10 years. LSU has stayed flat

LSU was very large to begin with. You do have to wonder if LSU would be in trouble if national enrollment numbers slowed significantly.

Just sayin.

The probation had nothing to do with actual academics. Auburn is still better than Ole Miss academically in every way imaginable.

An Ole Miss fan calling Auburn fans or anyone else racist is beyond a laughable considering Ole Miss fans proudly waved confederate flags at all their sporting events for decades up until a few years ago, has a confederate colonel as their mascot, and had someone put a noose around the statue of James Meredith on Ole Miss' campus just this year. Take a poll on this board of the most racist school in the SEC and Ole Miss would likely win in a landslide

READ. You were one step away. It's called probation. It's definately an academic ISSUE, as in "you were put on probation" and "you did have accreditation issues." Still very embarrassing.

It's funny that the other poster doesn't get the stereotyping parallel.

I have to think the run away success of the SEC has helped lure students to the campuses, particularly for the schools that have traditionally been reasonably small. It certainly will change the college towns quite a bit. Fayetteville is more developed then it used to be when I was a student.

Sigh, the old days, vast herds of aging hippies and art students bumming smokes off of each other on Dixon. We didn't establish a sufficient captive breeding population to keep their numbers up in the wild and now they are endangered in all but the most filthy coffee houses. Let that be a warning to Oxford, Starkville, and the other SEC campuses.

Ok got to go but don't throw stones and all. That's all. I like AU actually and do realize the many positives AU has. Just defending gross sweeping generalizations about my school. Good luck this week.

I'll agree that Dickson (not "Dixon",shame on your obvious non-alumni arse) has grown rather busy compared to ten years ago.

Arkansas has been one of the fastest growing schools in the nation the past decade or so.

Similar to Alabama, LSU is just now staring to recruit students through out the South. LSU is usually around 32/35 thousand students. Look for that to grow. I live in Lafayette and ULL is now at 20,000( I know non SEC related, but good news none the less)

not a chance. Quality has already dropped off (if you believe the rankings). You can't add 25k more students and not hurt the quality of the teaching.

There is no more early decision. Everyone finds out in February.

Jeeze read the other posts. You don't even qualify as functional. Now fire away with your personal insults. Sure sign you have nothing of substance to say.

LSU is about to begin recruiting OOS heavily. It isn't going to hurt when OOS parents learn...

quote:

When considering these value measures, LSU graduates are among the best in the country with starting salaries of around $48,000 per year, which puts LSU’s graduates 33rd overall among 150 public research universities. Further, mid-career earnings of LSU graduates rank among the best in the country and above four-fifths of Southeastern Conference schools at around $83,200

Our graduation rate from the 90's has gone from 35% to 70%. The average freshman ACT is currently a 27. Plus, it's always nice that we border Texas.

I think LSU is going to be just fine

He obviously didn't or can't read that we were put on probation not for academic reasons but for board of trustees reasons, namely Bobby lowder. Who is where now....
