Again, i stand corrected, but i would guess that 100 yard returns don't happen too often when the 2 teams involved are as good as they were in this game.

I could be very wrong about that too (and someone will probably prove me wrong).

If the kick 6 was not a miracle, neither was the hail Mary. Throwing the ball towards a receiver is just as fundamental as catching a kick and running towards the end zone..

It was a great play by AU.

It was a terrible idea by Saban.

57 yard FG with a cold unproven
kicker. WTF?

I think Saban just said frick it.
And rolled the dice...
Snake eyes..

It wasn't a miracle.
It was a hell of a game.

Not really. LSU (Beckham) pulled the same thing against UAB. Long kick, from the hash, weak kicker. If it is going to happen, those are the circumstances you'd look for. Just so happens those were the circumstances for both plays. Honestly, I think it happens 2-3 times per season.

Are you fricking serious? Comparing a significantly underpowered UAB with zero stakes and not the same caliber of player to Bama?

2-3 times per season the refs give team A, which has a shot to get into the national championship a chance to win the game by putting 1 second back on the clock, and team B, who also has a shot to get into the national championship has a 109 yard return with 1 second left to win the game?

Are you out of your fricking mind?

I stand corrected haha but you have to admit that is a highly unlikely play, regardless of the teams or circumstance

No doubt. It is extraordinarily unlikely.

But, I think that is the great thing about sports. Things like this happen enough times to keep us riveted.

Using another LSU situation (sorry, not trying to homer this. It just is the team with which I am most familiar) The end of the Arky game is pretty improbable.

Starting QB knocked out of the game. Punt stops at the 1 (99 yds to go) and LSU trailing. Freshman QB drives (with a few clutch conversions) to win the game.

Improbable...its why we love college football.

Only God makes miracles happen

God hates Alabama football

Therefore, Kick6 was a miracle

4 times in 4 decades

and if one of them was Beckham than that means 2 in 4 decades before the last 2. Nevertheless, an amazing way to end a great game of football.

This.

Plus this topic has been beaten to death. Miracle, lucky, great play it doesn't matter. We got the W and that is all that matters.

Tell me you thought Yeldon's run deserved 1 second back on the clock. Will admit though normally goes Auburn's way

Why are you so defensive about a once in a lifetime play to win a game?

Ok, and only 1 happened on the last second of the game with winner take all / loser loses all implications.

The only luck was the kicker left it short. Auburn had no control over that. So yes they were somewhat fortunate, but 58 yd field goals get left short all the time.

The rest was execution…..not luck…not a miracle. just execution. Auburn set up for the return and they just flat executed. Bama had the wrong personnel on the field to do much about it

WTF is WRONG with you guys?????

You won't see another play like that in a game of that magnitude in like 50 years!

Winner goes to the SEC championship with a chance to play for the national championship.

Loser gets season with some wins but no championship implications.

Oh, so its not the play itself(which is what this is about) but the scenarios and implications.

I question some peoples definition of miracle. Something that is specifically mentioned in the rule book is not a miracle, something that happens with what seems like divine intervention is a miracle

Can be said about any play. You will live your entire life and never see anything that nutty with the type of implications on teh line. You can't look at college football only in terms of sheer technicalities, emotion and the weight of what a specific play means if executed properly is a huge part of the game.
