Perine blasted on kansas, but....its kansas.

He had a 4 game stretch in the middle of the season against Texas, TCU, KState and Iowa St. where he averaged under 4 yards a carry.

He's a good back, and powerful runner but he can be slowed down obviously.

UT should win this game and then you will see a massive onslaught of the "Vols are back" by the media, which likely won't be true.

If this is true and the VOLS aren't back, when will I know the time is right to start the "VOLS are back" thread?

OU's offensive line was a mess against Bama (multiple starters out, replacements playing positions they weren't accustomed to) yet they performed pretty well against the Tide due to Coach Bedenbaugh (OU's O-Line coach).

OU is replacing 3 linemen with juniors/seniors, not 3 true/red-shirt freshmen. There's hope.

We have key skill players returning with RB Samaje Perine, WR Sterling Shepard, LB Eric Striker, and LB Frank Shannon (returning from a 1 year suspension).

Quarterback play will make or break this team against Tennessee. I'm curious to see how we'll respond if we get punched in the gut and lose the lead early in a hostile environment.

I have this as one of 5 losses for the Vols. I think if this game were late October they would win, but I don't think they are gonna do it game 2. Too many questions. I'm pulling hard for the big orange though. Oklahoma fans are the alabama of the big 12.

OU still has a nasty pass rush and that gave Tennessee all sorts of issues in that game last year.

Everyone's pass rush gave UT problems with Worley under center. Things got much better when Dobbs came in. His mobility made the OL look much better.

6:00 kickoff...so it won't be dark at kickoff but will be in the 2nd half.

OU has their woman beater back this fall. Joe "Man" Mixon from Cali.
He knocked a woman out! Was suspended all year (RS) year. He was a top RB his SR year in HS.

OU will have great backs.

Baker Mayfield is legit, and we have seen what trevor knight can do....so I'm not at all concerned for their QB play.

Perine is an animal who can explode at any time, and IMO was probably the #2 freshman RB last year behind Chubb.

As discussed, SEC games are Stoops' life purpose, so there is virtually no chance of them having a letdown game.

Night game is a positive for Tennessee...but being so early in the season, I'm giving this to Oklahoma.

Tennessee's chance at winning: 30-35%

The game last year was actually closer than the score indicated, and that was with Justin Worley at QB. He threw 2 interceptions in the end zone as we were easily driving down the field.
It was a 1 score game in the 3rd when Keith Ford fumbled and we recovered. They reviewed it and said the play stands as called...OU keeps the ball. Next play they score.

We are a different offense with Dobbs and much, much more experienced. Keep in mind that was the 2 game and first road game for all of our key freshman.
We return pretty much everyone and upgrade talent and depth at key spots.
Oklahoma lost some key OL and their best defensive player, Jordan Phillips. He killed us last year.

Not sure who will win, but it will be a 1 score game late in the 4th.

You folks who think UT will get blown out are ignorant trolls and scared shiteless that UT is actually going to be good this year.

I think Tennessee has a chance to pull a 2006 Cal game and just blast OU out of the stadium.

Not because OU won't be OK on offense, but because I think they will continue to take steps back on defense.

They aren't as aggressive or effective as they have been in the past decade, their defensive coaches haven't been very sharp, and I think if UT comes out and scores quickly, they can put OU on their heels, which is exactly where you can't be, with a new offense, on the road, at night.

If UT prevents the big play, this will be a blow out. And I don't think it means that UT is back, more than it means OU is fading.

Just my 2 cents.

Butch will continue to stack bricks and preach about his "young team". When will TN fans realize Butch Jones is a fraud? His biggest win while at Cincy was a freakin Liberty Bowl win over freakin Vanderbilt! Hate to be harsh, wish TN was back, but their not and won't be anytime soon

LSU 2014: 8-5
UT 2014: 7-6

Holy shite! Bow down to our LSU overlords

This young team started and played the most true freshmen in the country last season, so you can "frick" off

Strictly depends on what OU team shows up. I have never seen such a great and sorry group of guys on the same team. They can win any game and they can drop a game to anybody.
