The fact that Chris Silva didn't even make a preseason all-SEC team is a joke.

This.

Silva will be an absolute beast this year

Kotsar will be vastly improved. We will look like a different team but I think we will be better on offense but noticeably worse on D. If Dozier hadn't been an idiot and turned pro, this could be a top 15 team

I get that it is preseason, but I don't think I've ever seen a major conference team that made it to the Final Four (especially one of only a few SEC teams to ever make it) get so little respect the following year.

I give South Carolina a lot of props for making the final four (I hope we make it there one day), but how can you not understand the skepticism? Y'all were a great defensive team with one and sometimes 2 scorers and you got hot in the tournament. You lost both of those guys. You don't have a recent history of success outside of last season. Your incoming class was ranked 63rd by 247 composite. The best player you landed was ranked 151. The other 4 were all outside of the top 300 prospects. Show me another final four team that had the same question marks South Carolina has.

I get that you believe in the guys coming back and in your coach, but there is plenty of reasons for skepticism.

Feels like first time Bama has been ranked in about about 15 years. Not sure why they are, guess Anthony Johnson pulled in some good cruits

Again, people are overhyping the exit of Hannahs. Gafford will be better then Moses was.
Gafford may be better than Kingsley by his senior year.

And Hannahs was important. Defenses chased him around and that opens lanes for other guys. Are defenses going to respect CJ Jones the same way?

4 games. The scrimmage counts as one of the 5.

The Hogs will miss Hannahs' shooting. Not sure Jones can pick up the slack. We haven't seen him much.

Watch out for Jaylen Barford. He turned into an animal at the end of the 2016 season. This guy is a bad arse. He goes 100% all the time and makes things happen.

Hannahs could be shut down by one defender. It's not the loss people think it is. I'm not messed up about the rankings though. It'll correct itself fairly quickly.

After losing Thornwell, Dozier, Notice, and probably Felder? Right.

The guys who gave South Carolina votes were doing so purely out of respect for Martin. I doubt South Carolina will be bad but to me their roster is solidly at the bottom in terms of pure talent.

And I know about the transfers. Holden should be an impact scorer; the rest aren't impressive. Gravett will likely be your starting PG. It's going to be a bit step down after last year.

Holy shite that was clever. Nothing better than a sidewalk fan joke from a LSU fan.

Nice to see the SEC getting in. Especially since most of the media thinks we suck as a basketball conference.

I see the overall quality of the conference improving the past couple years. I think it will be even better this year. Even though lsu typically has a good/great year aurrounded by hot garbage years(and i mean years) i always enjoy SEC basketball.

I'm excited to watch a random Tuesday night game and know there will be good players and a good atmosphere.

It was the opposite of that for about a decade and it sucked arse.

literally the reason mizzou was brought in. yes we've been bad the last 3 years, but people forget we've been as high as #2 in the nation in the last few years.

You clearly don't know much about us. Notice and Dozier were downright horrendous offensively last year towards tournament time. We won because of their defense

Is it strange for the Bama fans to be this excited about basketball?

I'm not sure. Maybe you should ask this guy

They may have had some bad games but they were your second and third best offensive players so spare me the "you don't know much about us" bullshite.

Fair. Preseason rankings are meaningless in basketball. Not really sure why any Arkansas fans would be pissed about not being Top 25, though. Everyone knows Barford and Macon are good, but it's fair to be a little bit skeptical of how the rest of the roster will shake out. I do think Arkansas is a tourney team though so don't jump down my throat.
