He left Florida because he was breeding the ladies in the Ath Dept, his wife threatened to cut off his Oscar MEYER if he didn't leave.

I definitely now get the impression Meyer left UF because he felt he couldn't win in the SEC anymore. Is this true? Don't know, but it seems this way to me now.

It was written all over his face during the SECCG when Saban/Bama made Tebow quit. He knew his lucky arse run with Tebow and Zooks players was over.

Arkansas should've beat them in the 2006 SECCG and in 2009 @ Florida. Both those games still piss me off.

J. Wright/Childs/Gragg all played on the same high school team.

Nutt wasn't even recruiting Tyler Wilson

This^^^^...and all a lot of people believe is what they heard Arthur Blank spew when he aired his feelings on ESPN. He had previously given Petrino permission to interview and take another job and then changed his mind when Petrino did. He left that particular night because it was what Arkansas was requesting.

One of my favorite Nutt facts. He wasn't recruiting Tyler Wilson and the very first thing Petrino did was drive to Greenwood and sign him.

The delusion of you Arky fans is hilarious. Well see your tune in 5 more years when you still have no hardware to show for his immature antics. That is of course unless someone offers him enough money to leave before then

He does have an obligation to the NFL and the Owner. Its called a contract.

Do Arkansas fans claim DMac since Nutt recruited him?

DMac was an Arky lock regardless. He's got 501 tattooed all over his body. He loves the Hogs

We would've gotten Hillis as well, and probably Felix b/c we've recruited East OK pretty well lately

Now we're getting somewhere...I can believe this because it makes sense. So often, things aren't what they appear to be on the surface.

Yeah, after all, Petrino is such a classy guy.

He's sometimes hard to understand though...like when he's pointing to the other coach on his sideline, or handshaking in mid field after a game...

SIAP...haven't read the whole thread.

I know I won't change any minds here, but Petrino was forbidden to speak to the players before he left Atlanta...by Art Blank. The situation was never good and become toxic.

He HAD to leave then or not at all, because our window was closing. Recruiting was about to open and he couldn't NOT recruit...especially in light of what Houston Nutt had left behind. So leaving WHEN he did...was more about the calendar than it was about personal choices.

And...since coming to Arkansas, Bobby has treated the State, the school, the team AND their families (let me repeat that...the parents of our players LOVE Bobby) with nothing but respect and courtesy. He has earned OUR respect.

Art Blank spends a lot of money with ESPN. And guess who did the publicity hatchet job (for months/years) following Bobby's departure from Atlanta.

The incident last Friday during our game with you, was admittedly not his finest moment. However, there's a lot of coaches doing a lot of cursing on the sidelines. The only difference here is...his got caught on camera...and he was basically flipping off YOUR coach.

Would you guys be this bent out of shape if he'd been cussing at Nick?

Anyway...he's not the demon you've come to hate. He's doing a good job for us.

Yeah, I've always wondered that. Do you think they would've wanted to come to a team that doesn't run as much as pass?

Not that I hate BP, but just because someone is doing a good job for Arkansas doesn't mean people wont hate him or that he's a good person.
He's probably a good guy, but I doubt a ton of coaches point out other coaches and cuss at them during a game... kind of childish

Petrino has a long history of being a dick.

He was considered for the LSU job in 2004 and when he heard he didn't get the job he withdrew his interest to the media.

He bailed out of ATL in the middle of the season.

No comparison.

Yea, that must have been some contract, since he was able to leave with no legal obligation.

You must not have a wife or children. The first responsabilty you have is to you family. If they are not happy then you do what you can to help them, these coaches are people with problems like the rest of us.

Owners in the NFL can fire a coach during mid season, is he obligated to the coach or his own interest. People need to look out for themselves, that's the society we live in.

Because every coach and every owner and every school has honored every minute of every contract in football history...until THIS one?

Art Blank had already fired one coach himself during a football season. What happened to that contract?

Nick had an NFL contract too, when he jumped to Bama. I don't see anyone crying over that.
