Petrino leaves players letter
ATLANTA -- When players arrived at the Atlanta Falcons' practice facility on Wednesday morning, they were greeted by a four-sentence farewell from their former head coach, bobby Petrino.
Inside each player's locker stall was the following letter:
Atlanta Falcons players:
Out of my respect for you, I am letting you know that, with a heavy heart, I resigned today as head coach of the Atlanta Falcons. This decision was not easy, but it was made in the best interests of me and my family. While my desire would have been to finish out what has been a difficult season for us all, circumstances did not allow me to do so. I appreciate your hard work and wish you the best.
Sincerely,
Bobby Petrino.
Because the Falcons players had Tuesday off, and there were no team meetings scheduled, Petrino did not personally address his squad. Several veterans said that Petrino did not call them to apprise them of his departure.

People like Meyer and he won UF two NC's.
Nobody likes Petrino and he hasn't done crap.

I guess I'm one of the very few non-Ark. fans that did not and still do not give a rat's arse that Petrino left a note for the Atlanta Falcons players.
What changed my entire perception of Petrino was the pointing and cursing at Les Miles, then the "handshake".
IMO, Petrino is not a HC. His defenses are mediocre at best, his teams struggle on the road (Arkansas and Louisville), he can't control his emotions, he makes himself and his team look bad. He's an OC that belongs in the booth.

I'm tired of hearing the same old shite about the falcons. For heavens sake he wasn't leaving his children. Had he been fired I'm sure he would have been let into the locker room for hugs.
He got himself into somthing he and his family hated, so he split. Everyone has an obligation to their family and themselves, not a NFL team our it's owner.

Yup. The Atlanta players were just butthurt and embarrassed that their head coach would rather be coaching the Arkansas Razorbacks than the Atlanta Falcons.

I love that the player who talked the most shite was DeAngelo Hall. He was promptly cut a few weeks later if memory serves

The difference is one of these men is respected, the other is a little boy.

Dude...give it up. Petrino left in the middle of the season
It's not our fault tFlagship is such a good job.
This has happened before. Holtz left Joe Namath and the Jets after the 13th game to Coach tFlagship and CBMFP left the Falcon's after the 13th game for tFlagship.
Ask Saban...the SEC West>NFL.

So it's Petrinos fault that he got sold a bill of goods that he would get to coach Mike Vick?
Sorry, he wanted the frick out of ATL and he had to take our job right then so he could recruit or else we wouldn't have had:
Joe Adams
J. Wright
T. Wilson
C.Gragg
G. Childs
etc. etc. etc.

Lulz at LSU fans talking shite about Petrino quitting his team by leaving a note. Billy Gonzales says hi.

With tOSU hiring him so soon after his departure from UF, I definitely now get the impression Meyer left UF because he felt he couldn't win in the SEC anymore. Is this true? Don't know, but it seems this way to me now.

You're missing the obvious. While we enjoy college football, the NFL still reigns supreme in terms of viewers. By far.
So if a coach disses another college for another, by whatever route, so what to them. But to dis an NFL team as Saban or petrino did, hurt the beloved NFL.
