He should have come to Florida where he could have been happy.

Yeah, he would've sucked, but at least he could have been happy.

At least he has stayed out of trouble while at AU for the most part. Word is he wouldn't have since J'ville and Gainsville are an hour apart.

Our record with high profile recruits isn't as bad as it sometimes seems, but Cowart is especially disappointing. His signing was symbolic to a change back in Auburn's defensive culture. Ironically, since he was signed that change occurred but he hasn't been a part of it. He likely was involved in Holland's (at least helped) signing, maybe C. Davis.

His inability to get off blocks and make plays is astounding.

It could be. I'm not sure what difference it makes, though.

why are you guys so concerned with where he got the info? point it he got it and was pretty much first to bring it here. besides, it's common knowledge that Bama fans always get pretty solid AU info. always have somehow.

Marlon Davison, Derrick Brown, Nick Coe, Jeff Holland, Carl Lawson, and Monty Adams all seem to have developed nicely.

This week has not been good for Auburn attrition. On Monday, the university announced that quarterback Sean White, a one-time starter who played in 16 games over the last two seasons, was dismissed from the team following a public intoxication charge. Now it appears the Tigers are losing another player: defensive lineman Byron Cowart. According to AL.com, Cowart has requested his release from Auburn. The report states that the request is "in the process" and up to coach Gus Malzahn. Derek Tyson first reported the news on Tuesday morning. Auburn has not officially announced anything regarding Cowart. Cowart came to Auburn as the No. 3 overall prospect in the 2015 recruiting class, per the 247Sports Composite. His National Signing Day saga was one of the more dramatic stories of that year's class. Cowart originally committed to Auburn over Florida during a televised announcement, choosing to commit to his primary recruiter (Will Muschamp, then AU defensive coordinator) over what was believed to be his leader (UF). However, his National Letter of Intent was not received for several hours with conflicting reports as to why. Cowart has just 15 career tackles to date and made a move from defensive end to defensive tackle this offseason.

I've also heard thru a friend who knows Stidhams gf, he regrets going to Auburn. Doesn't feel at home there

I was at the Mercer game. As team runs onto field to opposite endzone to pray, a group of 20+ players are in a circle on a knee praying and Stidham is off by himself literally 15 feet away.

Probably nothing but looked pretty weird. Even AU fans around me had noticed and thought it looked odd.

Our team, as bad as they are on the offensive side, has actually coached up the defensive line pretty well.

Cece Jefferson's numbers vs. Byron Cowart's are pretty laughable. If the kid had come to Florida he wouldn't have been mediocre, not that bad. Cowart in parenthesis.

Cece Total Tackles: 65 (15)
Cece Total Sacks: 6 (0)
Tackles for Loss: 17.5 (1.5)

Same year, same type of player. Should have come to Florida where he'd at least get a chance to play. Poor frickin' dude.

Weren't they pretty good buddies leading up to signing day, too? I seem to remember a lot of people thinking they were a package deal.
