incorrect. LSU > UT in 2014

LSU: 104,909
UT: 99,754

104,909 > 99,754

That is what I liked about Commonwealth Stadium was the grass surface.Didn't realize it was that big of a problem.Never liked ugly fake turf, but I guess it's a neccessary evil sometimes.I wish Missouri would have kept their beautiful grass surface, but they took it out for the junk fake turf in 2003.

Ole Miss has ugly fake turf in their stadium too for some reason.

This is the first time UK has gone with artificial turf (correct me if I'm wrong) and I think Mizzou is the only other conference team using it. Apparently we and Mizzou are too far north to get reliable use of natural grasses. I know natural turf has been a headache for UK all along.

Kentucky had a very hard time keeping the Bermuda grass turf viable after about October. Even then, the team could not practice in the stadium at all.

Even worse, once the Bermuda grass started to degrade, the field became very slippery.

So this will let Kentucky practice in the stadium all season long, rather than in August and September (if they were lucky).

Kentucky averaged 7,500 more fans than UT did in 2014.

so UK averaged about 1/3 of a bball stadium more than UT per game. So what are you arguing exactly?

it's not like UT has been packing the house the last several years...
the opposing fans have been doing it for them.

I'm averaging the last 2 years hoss. Seems to me that 2014 is the exception, exception boy.

or maybe LSU had a stadium expansion before the 2014 season "hoss."

Speaking of that, can we discuss 2012 where LSU averaged 3k more fans than Tennessee with a stadium that sat 10k less people? Or is 2 years the barometer we're going by?

Great looking field! Blue and blue checker looks sharp, so glad it's not blue and white.

CWS, in college athletics, mean College World Series. Hurts my eyes seeing it in refernce to a football stadium.

That UT averaged 1,500 more than the 3rd best in the SEC (Arkansas) and 5,500 more than LSU...so, relatively speaking...UT is the prettiest girl at fat camp....so at least we've got that.

so why was that a retort to my saying UT doesn't touch Kentucky in basketball? Were you just trying to agree with me about UK and tell me something I already know about LSU, although it had no relevance.

I was saying that UT's basketball attendance is near the top of the SEC, whereas UK's football attendance is not. A relative comparison was being made about the attendance of the two programs...so that is where I went. I only added the LSU stat because you introduced LSU's football attendance earlier in the thread (establishing precedence).

I like the checker board look, its unique since no one else in the SEC has it.

yes, and the gap between #1 and #2 in football is not even comparable to the gap between #1 and #2 in basketball.

actually, I never brought up LSU. That was your boy Serraneaux, for whatever reason. Really weird he would bring up LSU's football attendance when it was greater than UT's last year, and percentage/capacity, has been greater for quite awhile.

ETA: and I honestly only replied in this thread because I thought it was weird someone felt the need to belittle/troll Kentucky's football program. They've never been good, a threat, and have generally harmless fans

I am sure the rest of the SEC appreciates Kentucky putting in a new track on which to kick Kentuckys arse. Very considerate actually.

Yes..but UK isn't the #2 program in football.

I only jumped in because I love messing with UK fans (in good sport). The majority of my family is from Kentucky, and they are all UK fans...so we always rib each other. I really like UK, all in all.
