Try again.

Last two years, Tennessee's home attendance > LSU's home attendance.

GTFO.

I will agree with lsufball19 on this one. From the pic below (taken from a UK/Vandy game) nearly everyone in the stadium is wearing blue)

I was at this game. There probably weren't 15,000 people there and it was raining and 30 degrees. It was November '12 and Joker Phillips had not been fired yet (he was fired immediately after the game).

Kentucky played Samford at home a couple of weeks later and the turnout was much better. Mark Stoops was hired in December '12 and more than 50,000 came to the spring game in '13.

Again. Exceptions are your friend.

again, Kentucky does not have the football program Tennessee has had and are very clearly a basketball school. For a school with no real success in their history, I don't think 58k is something to be ashamed of. However, a school with a stadium that seats 103k, only having a paid attendance of 89k for an entire year is pretty bad. But by all means belittle them for not being good at football. You know good and well they support their premier sport as much as any school in the country supports theirs

Neyland has had natural grass since 1994. Before that, UT had Doug's Rug (TartanTurf).

I remember that. The Vols quit using it because of injuries, right?

This is the first time UK has gone with artificial turf (correct me if I'm wrong) and I think Mizzou is the only other conference team using it. Apparently we and Mizzou are too far north to get reliable use of natural grasses. I know natural turf has been a headache for UK all along.

I know...I was actually just screwing with the other guy. Joker Phillips ruined the momentum that Rich Brooks had built. Stoops is getting excitement back into the program, and is turning things around.

Sorry, but Tennessee has great attendance in basketball as well.

Next. Excuse. Please. Kind. Sir.

you don't say. I'm sure that has nothing to do with the fact UT's stadium sat 10k more people in 2013. But no, LSU averaged 104k last year. Ut? 99k.

Pretty much...UT had turf down for over 3 decades. It did contribute to injuries...it also contributed to some fast as hell receivers. As fast as Willie Gault was, he was faster on turf.

they don't touch Kentucky. Are you actually trying to compare Tennessee's support of bball to Kentucky? Really?

Wow, a whole 58k?

Kentucky's 2014 attendance average was 57,572. Capacity was 62,093 due to construction. Kentucky averaged 92.7% capacity in 2014.

Tennessee's 2014 attendance average was 99,754. Capacity was 102,455 after expansion. Tennessee averaged 97.3% capacity in 2014.

Congrats on Tennessee's football fanbase being 4.6% more interested than Kentucky's football fanbase.

Attendance smack.

Only in the SEC. I guess that's one of the reasons ours is the best conference.

Let me know when Kentucky football attendance sniffs the top 12 nationally year after year after year after year after year after year, like Tennessee does in basketball.

You got us there. Kentucky averaged 7,500 more fans than UT did in 2014. UT was #2 in the SEC and #12 in the nation in basketball attendance.

Vandy went to artificial turf last season.

I'm glad you went back two years.

In 2013, Kentucky averaged 59,472. Capacity was 67,942. Kentucky averaged 88% capacity.

In 2013, Tennessee averaged 95,584. Capacity was 102,455. Tennessee averaged 93.9% capacity.

Tennessee's fanbase was 5.9% more interested in football than Kentucky's fanbase in 2013.

I also find it interesting that Kentucky had more growth in the second year (from 88% to 92.7% - 4.7% growth) than Tennessee did (from 93.9% to 97.3% - 3.4% growth).
