I said that to make my point that y'all's pass D is an unknown, just like UGA's

Our pass defense is returning 60% of the starters on a pass defense that was ranked 12th last year.
Your pass defense is returning 25% of the starters on a pass defense that was ranked 60th last year.
Our coaches who have been doing well with pass defense for multiple years are back.
UGA has new coaches they are hoping can make a positive change.

I'm not understanding why this is hard for you to grasp why SC is better off at DB and has the advantage. Is it the part where we have more returning starters, we were better at it last year (and years before that) or that we aren't hoping for a coach to make a change?

So what magically changed from USCe not having a great home field advantage to being so unbearably difficult within the last 3 years? Is it really crazy for me to suggest that home field doesn't mean as much as you think it does?

Because both sides have too many unknown variables to know either way definitively

What other prolific passers did USC face?

Bortles, who was drafted higher than Murray. He had more turnovers than TD's.

Some other guy named Matty Mauk that mizzou was really high up on.

Tahj Boyd who has ALL the ACC records, for whatever that's worth, but I seem to recall he had 1 huge game against some team early last year.

Dak Prescott, some people believe he's a great QB, I think they have him as #2 in the SEC this year.

I will say that USCe's emasculation of Boyd the past few years was something to behold

This isn't a world of absolutes, you could say that any of these positions, that were addressed in the OP. SC has more going for it at DB and a lot of positions b/c of returning depth and previous statistics/accomplishments relative to those players returning. If you think that everything is up in the air b/c of some hope that a change stimulated by a new coach...g'luck with that.

He had 5 turnovers in that game last year. It was unreal how deep inside his head our defense got.

More or less yes

Has more to do with playing and watching a lot of sports. These things are typically very unpredictable.

The only thing I got to say is Murray is in Kansas city. If GA can't move the ball through the air its going to take a lot more than Todd gurley to stop ga from getting a mud hole stomped in there arse. In 2012 you came to the brice and got beat to sleep and you had better players on d than you do now you had the better QB better wideouts linebackers, everything on your team was better how did that translate?

What changed is obvious.

"Why is it that during recruiting season they sign all the great players, but when it comes time to play the game, we have all the great players? I don't understand that. What happens to them?"

To be fair to Mr. Prescott, he faced SC when his mom was in her very last days in her battle with cancer. She passed away the Sunday after they played on Saturday. You know his mind wasn't on football and who can blame him for that.

They are usually suspended which is why Spurrier wants to keep this series early in the year.

Unfortunately for you South Carolina is not the same team either. That was two years ago. You now have a different qb, wr, ol, DL, lb, secondary and punt returner. UGA doesn't have to be better than they were 2 years ago, they just have to be better than you this year

If our run defense is as weak against y'all as it was last year it won't matter if the game is at the Brice. Shite we couldn't even stop the white dude from running through us.

While true, I would expect you guys to gear up to stop the run with our relatively inexperienced QB......you should have a little more success this year. Any way you slice it....we can all argue how our team is superior in whatever areas....but we are all guessing until they get o the field. We all WANT our team to be the best, but wanting something and something being true are two different things. It's a wait and see situation...and I can't wait to see!

Yes I do. Past performance is a good indicator of future performance.

In that case, this years DL will not be as good as last years....after all they could not beat out last years DL for playing time and past performance is a good indicator, right?

Wait, wut?

You're saying Spurrier has said he wants to keep this series early in the season beeecauuuse ...........?

As opposed to what? Did Richt approach someone here at Carolina wanting to move our game to later in the season?

Really helped us last year huh ... as opposed to catching y'all a couple of weeks later.

You gotta link somewhere where Richt has tried to schedule us later in the season, or where Spurrier has .... oh, wait. You're referring to that joke of his before the 2012 game when asked about playing the game in Oct rather than Sept. Of course the part about him owning y'all when he was playing y'all in Oct at Florida has always been omitted from that quote.

But we gotta love the lingering troll ...the HBC is the master. He makes Dawg fans completely lose control of their common sense. Y'all really believe SCAR has an unfair advantage because we play y'all earlier ... lulz. Thanks for the wake-up laugh.

Laugh it off just remember that was the one time Murray couldn't chuck the ball all over the field and it cost you there's a simple method to football. Sure Gurley ran all over the field last yr Murray also had like 300yds through the air.
